Dale Tallonís 3 Worst Moves as GM of the Panthers

I posted Tallon's 5 best moves a few weeks back.

Here's my top-3 list of Tallon's worst moves.

Let me know what you think, and feedback is always welcomed.

1. Yup
2. I can see that. Is it top 3 worthy? Maybe. Also missed out on Justin Faulk, taking McFarland and Petrovic right in front of him. Oh well.
3. Yea, that waiver bummed me.

Another option could be the Frolik trade.

Frolik turned out to be a two way 2nd/3rd line winger capable of PKing.
We got Skille, Pacan and Jessiman back in return.

Yeah, I was going to go into Petrovic, but figured I would just do the first round. Got close to 1k words.

Was gonna do the Frolik trade, but I've always not liked his game. But that return did, and will always suckkkkkk

edit- frolik is still far better than grabner as a player*

Kuba signing should be up there instead of Grabner IMO. At the time Grabner didn't show up like he wanted to play and didn't make the cut.!

Yea, him and Jovo contract were bad contracts.

Jovo had the heart, but he was done as an effective defenseman

I will never understand people who hate the Grabner move, dude is an average 4th liner who had one good year. Kuba and Jovo contracts were much worse.

The Grabner move doesn't bother me because he's essentially worthless 5-6 years later. If he was a key role player on a contender then the loss would've made me a lot more upset.

Not drafting Tarasenko when he could've boils my blood a lot more.

I get what you're saying with the 2010 NHL draft, but I'm going to have to disagree and say that it's entirely hindsight.

The mere fact that they converted 3 for 3 in the 1st round and produced how many NHLers in 2010? Enough to say that it was a great success. Regardless of how much more of a success it couldve been. This is a team that has a history of taking the Ellerbys and Oleszs of the draft, when players around them are respectable. The only true dud of this draft was taking McFarland. And, that'd be total hindsight to criticize that pick. McFarland, as a 16 year old, was seen as having the skill set to be a generational player. He fell tremendously in his draft year from 1OA to a 2nd rounder (for good reason). But if any team had the luxury of taking a chance, it was the Florida Panthers with three 2nd round picks.
