joking, but if you real want to track their chances check this site out http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html

Leafs just improved to 1.3% chance of making it

Thanks for that but anywhere I can get an actual list of teams that have pulled it of in the past and how much?

I think Buffalo overcame something like 13 points in the last six weeks of the season to make the playoffs the season before the Lock-Out. Of course, that was before the shootout.

Didn't San Jose make an epic run the year they got Thornton and ended up in 4th? I don't know where to look to see exactly how far back they were.

I remember a couple of years ago the Blues were like 2nd or 3rd last in the West and the made this huge run post all star game and finished 6th in the conference. It was the year they got swept by the Canucks in the 1st round. Not sure of the actual number of points they gained though.

EDIT: God bless the Internet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008%E2...season#Summary

Yeah, basically you'd have to have two separate stats, one for pre 3-point games and one for post.

It's much harder to make up ground now when it's that much more likely the teams in front of us will gain points along the way.
