This is who I think the Ducks should take at 6. He would look stellar on our blue line

Right handed rushing Dumba to pair with left handed steady Brodin in MIN.

Minnesota I think got a steal with this guy if he develops. They needed a physical game changer and they got one.

Probably the best pick in the draft possibly outside of Pittsburgh grabbing Maatta at 20th. They needed a D and this guy can be more of an impact player than Reilly or Murray. Probably seems closer to being NHL ready as well.

Brodin, Dumba, Spurgeon, Scandella, Gilbert.....Minnesota's D starting to look solid.

I used to love Dumba but as of late I fell less and less in love with him

I'm not sure he can be as effective in the NHL as he is in the WHL

I'm rooting for him because he's an exciting player but a lot that's being said about him reminds me a lot of the press Luke Schenn got when he was drafted

I like the multi-dimensional aspect of Dumba's game. Not unhappy with this pick for the Wild.

I really wanted Dumba on the Jets, but I can't complain with Trouba. To be honest, I thought the Wild were going to take Trouba and the Jets Dumba.

I do think Dumba will need to adjust his game though. Rocking people like Scott Stevens in Junior is one thing, but I don't know if he can continue it in the NHL.

If he can't, he'll learn quickly. It's not out of the realm of possibility for him to dial it down.

I love this pick. It's just so perfect. We're in need of good D prospects, we got one. We have Brodin, a left handed D, so it would be nice to get a right handed D, we got one. We need someone to replace Brent Burns in the future, we got one.

Brodin - Dumba

a very dynamic defensive d-pair if I've ever seen one.

Oh boy they're going to love Dumba in Minny.

As an Oilers fan I don't look forward to seeing him all the time.

And you won't. He'll be back in Red Deer next season and by the time he makes the big club, we'll be realigned.

Luke had little-to-know offensive skills at the time he was drafted. He in fact still is quite poor in the offensive zone. Dumba, projects to be a much more dynamic offensive player with a solid point shot. Big difference. I'd take Dumba's upside any day over Schenn.

I wanted Dumba or Trouba, didn't care much which we got as long as it was one of those two. I'm quite happy to see Trouba going to the Jets too; now if we can just get a nice friendly realignment and a bit of a rivalry going I can moan and groan any time Trouba has a better game. That'll surely make me happy, I love to complain.

Of course I would too....I realize that Dumba actually has some of an offensive game while Schenn essentially had and still has none

But I'm talking about his physical play specifically......Luke Schenn was nicknamed the Human Eraser when he came out but the only thing thats been erased since he's got here is his name in the lineup card.......I'm not saying that will be Dumba but its just an interesting point to note IMO

Like I said I'm rooting for Dumba because he's an exciting player but I dunno I'm not sold that he can be as effective at the next level

What is the situation with Mathew regarding AHL eligibility? If he doesn't make the Wild roster out of camp (which I don't see happening), does he have to go back to Red Deer or can he join the Houston Aeros (Wild's AHL team)?

Also, what do people reasonably expect for him next year? He's one of my favorite prospects we have but I've only seen what he can do in highlight videos.

I believe he'll go back to Red Deer. If he does indeed get to play with the Wild out of camp, he'll probably get the Bulmer treatment in that he'll play the maximum 9 games then get sent back to Red Deer.

Minnesota you got a great player. Dumba is still developing physically but he is really an offensive defenseman with an assassin's ability to step up and make big hits. He is a great skater with excellent lateral mobility. Tireless worker committed to being better and improving.

He has work to do on the defensive side. That passion to be a difference maker and non stop motor leads him to run around abit. However Dumba is highly coachable and I believe his defensive game will mature including becoming selective in his physical game.

On an injury plagued Red Deer team he was playing huge minutes for the last quarter of the season. This affected his play somewhat but was also a sign of his leadership as a draft eligible player asked to step up.

I've watched the Dub for 40 years. Pretty special to see this years crop who came into the Dub as high bantam picks continue their development to be top ten NHL picks. Hard to pick among these guys but Dumba has good character, high skills, and leadership. He needs to calm his game down somewhat but that is far better than a player that needs an electric shock to get 'em going.

Never any certainty with prospects. But I like Dumba alot and with some depth on the blue, the Wild have an opportunity to be patient and return Dumba to the Dub. Let his get stronger physically, work on his own zone play, and play in the U20 World Juniors.

You know you have a lot of talent when a guy like this is lost in the shuffle.

I really like this kid, IMO the Wild got a steal with Dumba. If he pans out he could be the biggest game changing defense man coming out of this draft. Would you guys compare him to Phaneuf, Kronwall, or maybe somebody else?

Phaneuf/PK Subban if he ever reaches his full potential.
