Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #56 @ Detroit Red Wings

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Brian Boyle, with 1 wraparound attempt against Detroit.

The overachieving has come to end. The luck and breaks have run out.

The power play is probably biggest joke I've seen in, maybe ever.

The Good: **** ******** ********** **** **** ***** ****

The bad: Everything

The Redden: The Rangers lose this kind of game every single time they play. IT's like the sun coming up. We should be on a 5 game winning streak. ****in chokers.

The good: Biron once again... The bad: the powerplay again... The Redden... GABORIK. The man doesn't care at all. Where was the hustle to keep the puck in the zone at the end of the game?

The thing is they play good and cant score. All they need, is Gabby to score. That is all they need honestly. Everyone else is doing their jobs.

Player of the Game
Ryan McDonagh - he won't win because people don't read the rules and just pick whoever scores or who has the most points.

The Good
Michael Sauer
Matt Gilroy

The Bad
Michael Del Zotto

The Redden
Marian Gaborik

Good: Avery, Biron, McD

Bad: MDZ (not that bad though) Gilroy (even though he had a nice pass) the powerplay

Redden: Gaborik needs to sit and be sent a message. There was absolutely no effort at the end of the game from him. Absolutely inexcusable

The Good: Avery played well
The Bad: Everything else
The Redden: Powerplay, 5 on 3, 6 on 4, and of course 4-20-3 when allowing 3 goals in a game.

This is beyond frustration. I wish I could escape from hockey for a week or two, but this time of year the coverage is everywhere. I hate when the Rangers lose because then I can't watch highlights for the whole night.

Avery clearly our best player.

The lack of fight in front of the goal. Howard will be a star but had to make very few good stops.

Must say, Gaborik is not working hard at all.

They said that about Gaborik, and Drury, and Redden, and Gomez. In case you can't see it right in front of your face; BRINGING IN BIG NAMES ISN'T WORKING.

Biron did not play that great tonight. He should have had the 3rd one, AND the second one he made a stupid play. He should have just slid across instead of sliding.
