Did any one else hear how the there was crowd noise playing out of the speakers? I give it 5 games before it's replaced. That piece was an absolute joke.
One the other hand.. what did you guys think of the "This is where..." video..

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning and WTOG-TV Channel 44 (CW44) in Tampa Bay are again joining forces to bring Lightning fans three exciting games in high definition on Saturday nights during the 2011-12 season. These games would have otherwise been unavailable in the Tampa Bay market, making this season the first time in franchise history all 82 games will be available on television in the local area.
Entitled "High Voltage Saturday Nights", these games will augment the team's previously-announced broadcast schedules on Sun Sports, VERSUS and NHL Network. The broadcast team of play-by-play man Rick Peckham, color analyst Bobby "the Chief" Taylor as well as rinkside reporter, Sun Sports' Paul Kennedy, remains intact for all games on CW44.
The full High Voltage Saturday Night schedule is below:
Date Game Time
October 29, 2011 vs. Winnipeg 7 p.m.
November 9, 2011 vs. New Jersey 7 p.m.
April 7, 2011 at Winnipeg 7 p.m.
AWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
It's nice they picked up 3 otherwise non-televised games, but they just had to bring back the corny ass slogan. Also, Sun Sports Y U NO like Winnipeg?
Question about Tesla Coils being used to read our minds:
Is that why I get shocked by it for wearing a tin-foil hat?

OMG. When they first showed Boucher as the conductor, I laughed so hard I snorted a little bit.
Everything was going fine when they were trying to equate the motions of a conductor with the marker strokes of Da Bouch, and even thought it was kind of cool what they were doing, but when they put him in there as the conductor, I lost it.
The actual song itself isn't as bad as what was initially released through the media. It came off as a local news theme when it was just the back portion of the actual composition.
I see that Boucher got himself mixed up in all this by saying something that could be expanded upon. I've got one for next season: "Our hockey team is a lot like giving me a billion dollars. You might not like how it turns out, but you can't say it wasn't entertaining." - FP
The 07-08 video is terrible. I didn't notice it until now. They have all these adjectives up on the screen, but don't show any of that.
Energy - players walk out of tunnel, shots of players standing still
Power - Vinny scores another goal.
Excellence - Lightning players on the receiving end of checks, intertwined with Thunderbug and a 'save' that wasn't going to ever go in (crowd cheers). Pile up in the defending crease. Lightning player sliding on his back towards the end boards. Player apparently granted second chance, and finally scores.
Skill - a TB player makes a hit. Denis makes desperation save (called desperation for a reason). Richards high-fives teammates. Capitals player directed towards goalie, who shoves him over. Empty net goal by Marty.

First time at the Forum since the renovations and it all looks really good. Love the whole organ area and how the pipes light up when we score. This years opening segments or whatever are completely lame. Last year's Inception music with the locker room stuff was awesome. The party deck (this needs a new name ASAP) was really amazing. The view was totally worth it. I probably would have walked right past it had there not been a whole bunch of people walking out that area. It's really easy to miss.
In the 'This is Where' video, some of the lines are sort of weak.
instead of:
"and where we will never surrender." - lame and cliche
how about:
"and where we will never quit/give up" - not as cliche as 'surrender', but gets the same point across, and keeps my attention.
or:
"and where we will never stop." - similar to above, but also implies dangerous play, especially if you're familiar with the 'Safety Towards Other Players' program, or STOP http://www.safetytowardsotherplayers.com/
The term 'sheer determination' also comes across as sort of cliche, there are alternatives that work. (Just using a thesaurus for 'sheer')
also, the line "where you become relentless" seems sort of superfluous, but to remain accurate to the slogan, they couldn't say "and this is where you become the thunder.", which is sort of lame because the message appears everywhere else, and the spirit is the same. I'd rather break the rules than sound barbaric.

As far as never surrender.. Personally I like it as is because I think of these guys going to a brutal battle, yes surrender is a little cliche, but it also has a much more powerful meaning then stop (which no one would get), quit, or give up. When I hear those terms, I think of a hockey mom rooting on her squirt/mite or a football mom rooting for a little pop warner. If it wasn't for the music, I would agree with you, but the intensity of the music seems to call for a little bit more dramatic lines like surrender versus quit.
For sheer vs. some other words, it already sounds like Thompson (right?) has a mouth full of marbles some of those other words might make it sound like he really is mumbling a bit more, lolol.
With relentless, I don't think many of the fans know the true meaning, I think they just feel it as being loud, giving it your all and such Also, they couldn't use "there is where you become the thunder" as just three lines later they say "be the thunder".
Sidenote.. That is not at all what I pictured Marty's voice to be like.
I'm a huge Tesla fan, if you guys develop them further and get them to play music; that would be even better. Imagine classic hockey jingles like the "Charge!" done on the coils.
There are a few cool youtube videos you can see tesla music:

Side Note: I realize it's Nikola, not Nikolai (the username). It's a Kulemin reference.
