I don't even know if Vancouver would do that. I could be wrong, but they seem to have a lot of depth at forward.

Last i heard they don't have a "real" 4th line center. Christensen could be that.

4th line center?

C'mon man, you know Christensen is not going to be a good fit as a 4th line center.

He's Marcel Hossa with more skill.

Cody Hodgson is the canucks 4th line center as of now. No thanks.

With the way Hodgson is playing right now, I wouldn't be surprise if he knock Malhotra down to the 4th line.

Don't think he's worth acquiring, but damn Prust is looking like the best player out of that Jokinen trade.

Again, not saying a whole lot.

And I agree with the poster that said Hodgson. I'd rather take a chance on putting him there for the rest of the season and letting him play his way into a permanent spot with the team, than giving up a 4th rounder for Christensen.

Value-wise, not a bad deal at all, but Vancouver just isn't a good fit.

Who cares about a 4th round pick? If the canucks feel they need depth at that position, then why not.

That's why I think it's not a bad deal for either team, but I don't think Vancouver is going to need Christensen.

I'd rather give up a 2nd for Reasoner if the salary difference is only $200,000

I'd essentially turn this into a "Would you give up any sort of a pick for Christensen" thread.

Rangers are empty on late picks this draft. If EC could fetch us one I'd be perfectly fine with dealing him. He is skilled and a great asset in the shootout but does not fit in well with our team ethic or our coach.

Agreed, If the canucks are gonna upgrade they might as well do it right.

Christensen would be a good 4th line center for the Canucks. That's a good trade for both.

Forget a 4th rounder, I'll settle for a Ryan Kesler team USA jersey in return for Christiensen.

Haven't seen enough of Christensen, so not sure if he would be a good fit on the 4th line... but from the description above, this isn't the type of player the Canucks need (ie. a more skilled Marcel Hossa).

What would he bring to the Canucks - and especially what they can't already get from Hodgson?

Is he physical? Is he good on the PK? does he block shots, or check well? is he strong on faceoffs?

this is the type of 4th line center we could use, otherwise keeping Hodgson just makes more sense... from the little I've seen of him, he looks like the opposite of what this team needs, if they're not going to go with Hodgson instead.

I'm not totally against this idea, but it doesn't seem like a Mike Gillis move. If he wanted a player like him on the 4th line, they would have just signed Morrison, who is better, cheaper and provides more leadership/experience.

Keith Yandle was a 4th round pick.

Not that I'd expect Delorme and company to replicate any such feat....

Come on our best choices in the 4th round (though not in Delmore's days)

1986 - Ronnie Stern
1981 - Wendell Young
1980 - Marc Crawford
1974 - Harold Snepsts

Though we haven't had a 4th round pick who has played at least a game in the NHL since 1993. So we better start pulling for Price and McNally.

And of Note: Oiler fans we drafted Taylor Hall in 1982 in the 6th round so tell him to pack his bags he's going to form a new 3rd line with CoHo

1) Physical - no
2) PK - no
3) Block shots - not particularly
4) Check - not sure he knows what that is
5) Faceoffs - 243-456, 46.7%

Edit: But please take him anyway? Even for a 7th round pick. We need the cap relief.

Removing the cap hit off the summer cap is reason enough to move Christensen. He really frustrates Torts.
