Habs and Boston pursuing Kaberle and Phillips(Rangers & Sharks also pursuing Kaberle)
WTF are you talking about? What part of he's only 20 years old did you miss? What part of him scoring at a PPG pace over the last month eluded you?
He's in his 2nd professional season ffs, and his first was as a 19 year old in the AHL on a bad team. Your boy Boyle didn't figure it out until he was 26, but you're giving up on Grachev at 20? Clueless.
its not giving up on someone if u get something of value in return...

Thank you.
Some Ranger fans are underestimating Kaberle in this thread. The guy is good, really, really good. He'd instantly be, at worst, our 2nd best defenseman.
Pacioretty. He's exactly the type of player we need, and one of my favourite up and coming players for that matter. High risk investment. You guys have Wisniewski anyways?
Hella no, if we gave you patches you'd be giving something back because patches is something we don't have enough of, offensive players with size
Like we've said before, kristo + 3rd is most we'd do

I don't think Kaberle will be traded. The Leafs are only 8 points from a playoff spot, and whether they make it or not, Kaberle will be a big part of any move towards that goal. i would put my money on him re-signing before July 1. As for Philips, he is a Jacques Martin type of player. Look for him in Montreal, maybe for a second rounder if Ottawa gets lucky.
Based on what? Your opinion? Where they were drafted? Both are unproven prospects. Both have superior physical gifts (size and skating). Both have good shots. Both have shown flashes of what they might be, and both have disappointed at times.
I'm sure if Kreider goes to the AHL next year and doesn't light it up, you'll sour on him too in favor of whoever we draft in the 1st this year.
Lol, ok. I'll remember this thread when you're posting in the Grachev appreciation thread a year or two from now. Young players with Grachev's combination of size, speed and skill are not expendable.
Kreider, Grachev, and Dubinsky are all very similar to Grachev, with Wolski and Dubinsky actually proving they are high caliber NHL players. Kreider is built the same way.

I just think Kreider is more fit for the pro game than Grachev. Grachev was dominating in the OHL because he was older, and more physically developed than everyone there. Don't get me wrong, I like Grachev, but he's not close to untouchable, especially for a player of Kaberle's caliber, in any way.
Burke is too stubborn to take fair value for Kaberle so I figure one of three things will likely happen:
1) He'll be dealt for above value to a team that's stupid.
2) He'll be kept and re-signed
3) He'll be kept and will walk.
I think #3 might be the most likely given how stubborn Burke is and given Kabs value. However a team like Montreal or Boston might just say **** it and overpay being that we have a decent number of prospects and picks. The only way he'll get the overpayment he wants is by a division rival. It's the only way it makes any sense.
Leafs ideally want a top six prospect + 2nd for Kabs.
Don't need D-men unless it's a cant-miss guy. Just need guys closer to the NHL level (AHL prospects with top six potential who are young) since everyone outside of Kadri is in the OHL.
