The New York Islanders are running out of healthy goaltenders.

Little-known Mikko Koskinen got his first NHL start Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs when Kevin Poulin went down with a suspected ankle injury in warmpups.

although im not really sure what "warmpups" are, id rather wait and see what the doctors have to say.
I believe Koskinen was the 1st goalie drafted in the 2009 NHL draft. He went 1st in the 2nd round, so he's just a kid and is going to need more development time.

That's just stupid, Hamonic's not going anywhere. And that's not even close to good value for him.

I nominate former VAN back up, Curtis Sanford, who is having an excellent year -- second in SV% in the AHL. Currently MTL property, Sanford is on a $550K two-way deal that expires this summer.

All the Isles need is a stop gap. Trading a brilliant young player is ridiculous. Not a chance.

Maybe Nabakov can have an agreement with Snow

he comes back, plays till the goalies are back or deadline, and trade him to the Wings.

I came in to post this but in my vision it was a 7th.

Pros:
1. Lalime is healthy
2. 7th is a low risk shot
3. He can tank a game like a pro..that 7th round pick keeps the development grid going for your younger guys, and moves your 1st round pick up significantly.

Cons:
1. Miller's best friend, prob not going to move him
2. IT'S PATRICK LALIME!!

He signed DiPietro for 15 years. It wouldn't suprise me.

Greiss for your 4th and 5th?

LE: just saw that he's a -6 for the season!? For Christ sake, they're keeping +/- for goalies now??

It was within the rules for Snow to pick him up... but if you needed a goalie that badly, you shoulda kept Roloson.
and if you knew your ass from a hole in the ground you might have a clue too.......

at the time of the Roloson trade we had 5 goalies in 4 spots between bridgeport and the Island, who knew 4 of them would be injured in a months time

you may think you can read the future but the rest of us cant, and Nabokov, has no reason to feel entitled beyond the rules everyone else plays by...... he chose to retire. so let him enjoy it,, because I'd toll him till hes 80 just to show him that we have principles too

The Red wings could have paid him a real salary and avoided the whole mess, they chose not to, this is on them. and when they fail to win the cup it will bite them where it hurts

I think there's a rule where Nabokov can't be traded for a certain period of time.

Snow ****ed up that file. He has to put his soother back in his mouth, move on, and figure something out.

Yeah - my spouse just turned down a job opportunity in Yemen. She has other priorities and goals. Does that mean she's a cry baby prima donna whatever too?

Look, Nabby made a decision and is playing by the rules by sitting out.

Just because things didn't go your way...

Snow was perfectly right to do what he did

nabokov. needs to realize he ****ed up, and realize he is no more entitled to his own set of rules than anyone else

and fans need to realize that if the Red Wings wanted him that badly, simply clearing cap space and signing him to a pro rated 6 million dollar contract would have assured Nabpkov would be in Detroit right now

but The Red Wings wanted their cake and to eat it too, they wanted to keep a deep roster AND Nabokov

Snow wasnt going to allow that.

this is all on detroit....... and on Nabokov thinking he deserved special treatment..... as he said "I knew the Rules"

he just didnt think they should apply to him

he is not playing by the rules,no where in the Standard playing contract does it say you can hold out

thats why he's suspended

and thats why he'll never play again in the NHL UNTIL SNOW IS GOOD AND READY TO LET HIM
