That's un-****ing-believable. A guy who's decently respected as being a hitter, doesn't lead with his elbow, causes no injury, and actually tried to avoid the collision gets 3 games?
That what does an actual hit to the head get? 5+ minimum right? This is nuts.

Unbelievable he got 3 games for that. 1 at most simply because even though he tried to hold up it was still a dangerous play and resulted in a headshot. But even that may have been too much given the outcome of the play. Paille got 4 games because of the result of the hit and the injuries he caused, how does Volchenkov get 1 less game on a much less dangerous play?
