Matt Cooke to Montreal

What would it take to get Matt Cooke from Pittsburgh to Montreal?

Bad idea. Montreal doesn't have the guys that can stand up and defend Cooke. Actually, good idea, they might just let someone pound him if he does go out of line.

It would probably be more than Montreal would be willing to give for him. He's more valuable to the Pens than he would return in a trade.

Got any expandable lower ranked winger prospects who aren't afraid to play physical?

We will take one of them. Anything to get him the hell out of Pittsburgh.

Not sure if serious, we got rid of Laps for a reason. Cooke is not made for this team, say what you want about last night but Habs held their own, other than the a few Bruins picking on guys that don't fight at the end of the game. If Montreal trade for anyone its for someone like Clarkson, or Crombeen.

This.
Montréal doesn't need agitator.
They need Cammalleri, Markov and Gorges in the lineup.
Plus a shutdown physical d-man. And maybe a Travis Moen #2.

Why would you want to expose your own players to Cooke?

Trade him to a Western team (preferably a bad one so you won't have to face him if you get into the Cup Final).

Screw that. Don't need that puke on the Habs.

Scott Gomez for Matt Cooke!

Pens get the scoring line center fill-in for Malkin that they need, and we get our needed tough guy.

Habs need real toughness, not Cooke. Cooke's antics just put targets on his teammates backs. He quite simply isn't talented enough to make up for his drawbacks and the Habs don't really have the players to clean up his messes.

I don't want him, at all.

It has nothing to do with his playing and everything to do with his character and his horrible lack of judgement.

I would love Montreal to get Cooke. Boston would enjoy playing against him 6 time a year, not sure he would enjoy that though with no one to protect his back.

I'd sooner be a leaf fan than want this little ***** to be on my team. Plus Pittsburgh is going to need him if they're going to injure enough people to win another cup this year.

Cooke is like an Avery who goes around trying to injure people.

Totally agree with this post. Cooke is an a$%h&*$ cheap shot artist who has run at every star player in the league with intent to injure....he's gutless!!

A 2nd round pick at best. More likely a 3rd.

Boston offers Tor 1st for Cooke.

And then does the entire league a favor and buries the schmuck in the ECHL, IHL, Federal League, or the concrete under the bathrooms at The Gahden.

Good idea in principle, but unfortunately he would have to clear waivers and somebody would pick him up.

Boston would be better to keep him and use him as a practice dummy.
