This Yankees lineup can absolutely rake. Career average to above-average seasons from Jeter, Texeira, Granderson, Posada and A-Rod are not out of the question. Considering how weak the AL is this year, i can see this team winning 100 games.
Yankee lineup is much deeper than the Sox. If anyone listens to ESPN you would think the Sox lineup is the 27 Yankees.

Their 1-5 is as good as the Yankees. BUT, their 6-9 is not.

They got too many lefty's. Not a very balanced lineup.
They could have some trouble against a team like the Blue Jays that can throw left handed pitching at you.

Not just wanted to, but begged day in and day out. And why not let him? He had shown ZERO signs of wear and tear. If they weren't going to re-sign them, why not just let him pitch whenever to try and better the team? The only one who sounds like a clown is the moron whining that he signed a broken player. What, does Cashman not have scouts? Or a medical team? Give me a break.

I'm a huge huge yankees fan, but cashman is such a *****. I'm honestly sick of his ****. With that kind of money I could have gm'd this team to more championships than he has.

Like torre, cashman gets way more credit than he deserves.

Yeah, it kinda is since he was effective throughout his entire tenure. Getting the most out of your players' capability? Isn't that the definition of great coaching?

Murph getting his first start at second.

Beltran rests, Harris-Pagan-Duda left to right.

Let's take this series boys.

The Sox lineup will get hot but all thee lineups in the AL East are dangerous, and I just cant see that Sox rotation and bullpen be able to sustain all the innings and high pitch counts.

Outside of Lester, you cant rely on any of the other 4 starters to throw 200 innings and be effective. Then once you get into that atrocious bullpen, it's open season.

Arod and Tex looked absolutely locked in. Scherzer might have to rethink his approach to those guys

Hughes still clowning around. Walks the hitter with the worst eye in baseball to lead off and serves up meatball after meatball. Zero command today.

Good win for the Mets, and good to take the opening series on the road.

Same ole Hughes from 2nd half of last season. His 4 seam fastball doesn't scare anyone even a weak 9th hitter.

Dubs is back to his old self. Ike is mashing it. Thole is showing great discipline and will be a single and double machine. This team is going to be dangerous this year.

The greatest team of all time, the 2011 Boston Red Sox, was just swept by the Rangers.

The Red Sox pitching staff is pretty overrated. It was an issue last year and will continue to haunt them this year. I agree with Media Savvy Lee that their starters, other than Lester, are problematic. Buchholz is decent but he surely won't have the same sort of success he had last season... he already gave up 4 home runs today after giving up only 9 last year.

Yankees and Red Sox will battle it out for the AL East title. I don't think the Red Sox are the clearcut favorite like so many are making them out to be. Next weekend's series at Fenway should be a good one.

I bet you ESPN will downplay this sweep and complain about Yankees payroll.

Orioles will be a pain in the ass to play against this year.
