He & Boll got close to a scrap in the first game he played against the CBJ, which was in Denver. It's on the highlight reel- Boll hit him, Foote didn't like it, there was some quick shoving before the two split up.

It was the 6-1 CBJ win.

I'm over the Foote debacle. We've got bigger fish to fry now.

Edit: I wish we had a Peter Forsberg on the Jackets. I will never forget the time I saw him skate up to the Rangers bench and call every single guy out. I was right behind the bench and could hear every word.
Forsberg? What did he say?

Its a huge game for sure.

They are just below us in the hunt, so its a good chance to knock a contender down in the race (not out, but down).

We can't lose back to backs at this point, we have to follow every loss with wins to keep momentum and moral up.

The crowd will rally for Colorado and to lose this game will cause some significant resignation in the fan base, and we've had enough of that.

This is more than just 2 points on the table.

Since basically the whole Swedish population will watch the game I'm hoping the guys show up tonight. Play like we did the first period against the Sharks and the points are home. Play like the two other periods and we'll be screwed.

I'll say 5-3 good guys. Umberger with 3. Forsberg will end up on the scoresheet somehow, I just know it.

I like it when I actually notice the crowd, normally I am focused on the action and tune the crowd out.

Obviously my issue goes deeper then simply wins and losses.

You should have a good crowd tonight, being a Friday night and all against what is historically more of a prime match up.

As far as that upstart group, I like their enthusiasm. They can do whatever they like, but it seems they need a little guidance into the world of supporting hockey. I say let them go and they'll figure it out after a while.
I tend to agree. I applaud the fans, but my season ticket days are long in the past. It has some to do with the years of disappointment, but mostly for me its just where I am in life with a family, and the economic realities that come with that. Hockey ticks are expensive, and I'm not real keen on sitting upper bowl, so that limits me to a handful of games a year. But on the flipside, I spend a lot more on merchandise for my kids than I ever did in years past, so they get my cash one way or the other.

The sweet spot for marketing to fans is to get those 20 year olds that blow their money as soon as it enters their pockets. Thats what the CBJ need to do. What is Pittsburgh's sellout streak at? 200 games? Get this team in the top 8 consistently and the profits will be there.

Yeah I really don't care anymore. He is still a scum bag and I do not care if people boo him but there are more important things going on with this team.

Heard it might be a sellout tonight. Good stuff. Here's hoping for a Jacket victory that I'll wake up for in time!

With Forsberg playing, a Friday night game, and not much else to do, it looks pretty good. All the online ticket outlets are still close to face value. LOTS of buzz about Forsberg. I'd like to see the ratings for this single game. Bet they spike sharply.

Good news; I'm headed up from Cinci for this one.
Bad news: I'm 0-6 this year, but I figgured it out--the hat I've been wearing doesn't have any luck left in it. So, different lid, different result:

Nash with 2, Calvert, Boll and Clitsome with one each. Jackets win 5-2.

After Weds, we really need this game. Not to mention that we need to beat these guys just so that we can say we won one against them.

Should be a good atmosphere in the Nat tonight. Jackets need to come up with a game plan to slow these guys down.

wait a moment...are you saying this game is critical?

As far as a game plan to slow them down, they could take a page from Montreal in last year's playoffs. When they were at home against the Flyers, someone put down some sort of substance on the ramp from the visitor's dressing room to the ice that took the edge off of their skates. When the game started, all of the Flyers were falling down. CBC showed them all getting their skates sharpened in the first period. Slowed 'em right down.

Prediction: We will one day understand the Foote "debacle" as one of the early mis-steps of XGM Scott Howson.

If the hockey gods are kind, we lose this one and get focused on being sellers.
I'd rather be out of it early, than tantalizingly close but out of it.
