Saying we should trade for Neal is like another team saying they should trade for Quick: a pipe dream.

Though I agree, but rumors out there is that Bogo wants out of Atlanta. He could tie their hands since he's a RFA next year, isn't he? It could be a JJ situation where they just get impatient and move him.

Oh dear god, Matt posted on twitter that Dean has interest in Cheechoo. Let's hope he's wrong.

Good luck getting Neal. I doubt Dallas has any interest in getting rid of him. If any combination of prospects and picks could get him (minus schenn and bernier), do it! Not happenin' though.

If Cheechoo is in DL's plans, I'd pay good money to be @ the breakfast with the GM coming up.

Oscar Moller and Bud Holloway are better than Jonathan Cheechoo.

Add Erikkson to that and something could give. Seems Dallas fan would rather keep Erikkson then Neal. I think Neal is the outsider. Just my opinion.

Eriksson plays RW. Why would they give any of these guys up???

Neal - Richards - Erikkson

That top line is championship caliber.

Cheechoo is playing for the Worcester Sharks, 47 games played, 14 goals, 27 assists, 41 points, a minus 7, 6 PPG (which means he has scored 8 regular strength goals in 47 games or about once every 8 games-puking) 141 shots on goal to lead the team and a whopping 9.9 shooting percentage. The guy had a great year, it's not coming back, leave him in Worcester.

Bogosian not happy in ATL?? Hhhmmmm

I know we all say that we need a scoring winger ( left ) to play with Kopi, but I seriously think that DL should do something to get this kid. He's Armenian, & with a huge Armenian pop. in LA, I think ge would do great. Last time he was here, he did some damage on us. What would we give up to get him. Let's get creative boys & girls.

My proposal

LA = Hickey or Teubert (d)
Simmonds or Toffoli (f)
Zatkoff (g)
1st pick 2011 or 2012 ( depends how far if we make the playoffs)
ATL = Bogisian
Bergfors
2nd pick 2012

Say what??????? Are we trading for Parise or an unproven d-man who's underwhelmed relative to draft position to date? Don't we have enough of those in Hickey and Teubert already?

We are in the Top 5 of defense.
We give up the least amount of shots in the NHL.
We have a player like Voynov, who could start for 95% of NHL teams, still in the AHL because we have no room for him.

We. Don't. Need. Any. More. Defense.

We need a top line winger.

I would not give up Simmonds or Toffoli for Bogosian. It would just be a step forward and five steps back. We can't just keep hoarding defensemen. We can't just continue stock piling them forever and ever until the end of time. We have players like Colin Teubert, who could be a Top 4 defensemen, backlogged because of how many damn defensemen we have.

Rumor is a lot of folks in Dallas are not happy with Neal's play this season and his preparation for the season.

I wonder if Atlanta would move Bogosian for Neal and a pick.

That wouldn't be good for us because it would solve one of Dallas' major problems.

Bogosian will go to the Avalanche for Chris Stewart.

Book it.

That makes too much sense. Stewart's brother Anthony is a Thrasher, correct?

At the very least, he won't cost anything, at the very most, he won't produce anything. Won't help us, but it won't hurt us too much.

We have absolutely no need or desire for Bogosian, and I highly doubt Atlanta wants to move him for a bunch of our prospects and picks. We need to be targeting young forwards with potential, not young defensemen.

Yep.

And Stewart has been a healthy scratch a few times under Sacco.

And the Avalanche need defense.

Thrashers need a top line winger who fits the style of their team.

Everyone wins.

A former executive with T.B. flat out told me they would have picked Bogosian over Doughty had they not gotten Stamkos.

Considering Atlanta would probably want to move him west, Voynov would be a solid beginning. Add a draft pick, and he'd be a fricken STEAL for the Kings.

And yes, Cheechoo is a Dean Lombardi type player and a "right fit" and would be a nice addition for the playoff run, and cheap. This came from someone in the organ-eye-zation this morning.

Not sure if he'd have to clear waivers though.

It strikes me as a serious dumpster dive. The Kings are fighting for their playoff lives and the GM goes out and gets a player who has SUCKED for years now. It would be a blow to the locker room and a blow to Lombardi's reputation.

Thrashers are 26th in GA and middle of the pack offensively, so they arguably need defensive help as well.
