Would love to pry Colin Wilson from the Preds 13g, 25a, 6-1, 219 pounds, and he's only 21 years old.
why would they give up on a 21 year old?
players names that I have heard.
Shea Weber
RJ Umburger
Zach Bogosian
Brad Richards(Would not trade for him without an extension not sure Darcy is capable of)
Brad Boyes
Stephen Weiss
Ales Hemsky
Those are a few I would be interested in under the right circumstances. Boyes has a bad contract but trading something like Hecht or Butler for Boyes I would do in a second.

Bolded are the impractical//borderline absurd.
Boyes could be had, IMO, but unless it was a deal moving a winger out, it wouldn't make sense.
Weiss would be nice but would likely cost too much. Though you never can tell with Florida these days.
Umburger might be the most likely, but I'm not sure how happy I'd be to see him in Buffalo.
If we are looking for the future I wouldn't mind getting Beach from Chicago. He has fallen out of favor there and probably be picked up for less than fair market value.
Something along the lines of Enroth, Butler or Webber or Gragrani, and a 2nd or 3rd rd pick.

That's an awful lot for a prospect who has fallen out of favor. Weber, Butler, and Gragnani all have very different values, as well.

Can you imagine Kassian and Beach on a line together?
I don't see us trading for d at the deadline unless it's a minor move, or they move out one of our top six guys for a center and are looking to replace him. Any moves we make will most likely be for forwards, specifically centers.

very true. weber has been playing great.
we do need to bring in a goal scorer, they just seem more difficult to find
I would probably do that. I'm not a fan of Gomez at all, but our center depth would go from poor to very good with that deal. Eller looks like a future 2nd line center and would fit in the lineup going forward as the third line center behind Roy and Gomez. I don't think Pominville is going anywhere, though, but who knows how we'll operate under Pegula.

I'd definitely be happy if any of the bolded names could be obtained - but in Weber's and Richards' cases, it seems like a hail-mary for the Sabres to ever land either.
Along with Boyes, I'd consider these options (some of which have been mentioned before) as possibilities:
Brooks Laich, C, 27, 6-2, 220, $2.0M now and UFA this summer
Eric Fehr, RW, 25, 6-4, 218, $2.2M for this and next season, then RFA
Joe Pavelski, C, 26, 5-11, 195, $4.0M through 2013-14, then UFA
Jarrett Stoll, C, 28, 6-1, 210, $3.6M through 2011-12, then UFA
Curtis Glenncross, LW, 28, 6-1, 200, $1.2M now and UFA this summer
Antoine Vermette, C, 28, 6-1, 199, $3.75M through 2014-15, then UFA
I'm not terribly big on Antropov. I'm not going to use the "L" word but I can't say I've ever seen him very...engaged. All those guys mentioned by Sabretip, me likey.
probably one of those guys that wishes every trade the sabres were invovled in
Rich Peverley is not a need for the sabres, we have enough third line centers.
He's a 45+ pt center signed for another year at a cap hit of $1.325. You say he's a third-line center. I say great! We need one of those. Center depth is a need, and Peverley is a quality 3C who, unlike Goose, is signed at a market rate for a 3C, and puts up the points of a 2B center. Even if they failed in acquiring a top-6 center this summer, I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Roy-Adam-Peverley-Goose than what we're currently looking at (potentially).
