LAST MATCH-UP

Quote:
The Toronto Maple Leafs finished one difficult stretch of games and were in no hurry to look ahead to the next tough part of the schedule that is quickly coming up.

Phil Kessel and Tomas Kaberle both ended goal droughts, and the Maple Leafs used a strong start to beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 on Saturday night. That ended a run of five games against the top teams in the Eastern Conference in which Toronto went 3-2.

"You look at the whole week and we essentially did something (no one expected)," coach Ron Wilson said. "I don't think anybody said we were even going to win one of those games. We won three of them, so I'm proud of our team."

The Maple Leafs will be rewarded with a day off Sunday before starting their only trip this season through Western Canada. Wilson said he hadn't started to look at the upcoming stops in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.

"(Sunday) I was going to do my Christmas shopping, that's all I was thinking about," he said. "I was either going as Santa Claus or Scrooge. Lose another game and your Sunday off is kind of miserable. That's really the only thing I was thinking about - not the next few games out west."

Great GDT!

Leafs are always at their best against us

I wouldn't call this one a must win, but i'll be seriously pissed if we do lose it

Can't lose 4 in a row, 3 of which against non playoffs teams

Saw on TSN Colby Armstrong will be out for a week, so he won't be playing

GO GO

As much as I wanna see the Leafs get destroyed, I hope we win this one in OT and give them a point cause I don't wanna see boston drafting that high again

I see that Komi and Lebda are penciled into the Leafs lineup.

As mentioned in an unrelated post yesterday, Brett Lebda is by far the worst NHL defenceman I have ever seen play in person. One assist so far, -16 with very little icetime. At least MAB has a booming shot and scores.Lebda makes Patrick Traverse look like Larry Robinson. During the time he was insulated in Detroit, I saw him play at least 6 times. Small, weak, poor vision,no shot. He doesn't hit, doesn't score.

The Habs should be able to really attack that pair and force Wilson to go to 4 dmen.

I have a feeling the Habs will win 5-2.

Should be a good game, hopefully the Habs come out flying, they should be in a cranky mood based on their last couple of games...the Leafs always give the Habs a tough game....

I just love watching Patches play. Hopefully he can score some more goals tonight. But I hope he doesn't score a hat-trick.

Alexandre Picard - PK Subban
Roman Hamrlik - James Wisniewski
Yannick Weber - Jaroslav Spacek

We have only one defensively responsible D in the line up and he's like 54 years old. Ouch!

Awesome GDT!

Hopefully the Habs can pull off the win here. Another loss would truly suck.
