I'd rather give the ice time to Kostitsyn than considering bringing back Kovalev.

If he loved it here, and was a force when happy, how come he sucked for 90% of the time he was here?

Kovalev sucks.

Cmon man... Kovalev put up 84 points for us in 07/08. He actually garnered some votes for the Hart trophy that year (he got a few 2nd and 3rd place votes if my memory serves).

- He loves the city
- He's familiar with a lot of our players, including proven chemestry with Plecks
- Proven playoff performer
- He's a UFA at years end
- The cost of getting him in a trade would likely be very low (probably only a mid round pick)
- He really can't be worse than Kostitsyn or Gomez right now

I realize you can make an equally long list of his shortcomings but I've said it before, I'll say it again: this is the definition of a low risk, high reward move.

If Kovalev comes back motivated for a playoff run, than we're laughing.

Kovalev is DYING to prove people wrong.

You know it has at least been discussed.

If Ottawa will take something like a 4th or a 5th, we'd be crazy not to make that trade.

So 1 year 3 years ago is your argument? I just don't think he wants its anymore. When he plays great wow, but he doesn't always bring that game.

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe a move from a basement team to a playoff team will energize him?

If the price is right (and it probably is), what is wrong with trying to catch lightning in a bottle for the last month of the season + a playoff run?

It's such a low risk move, especially since he really can't be any more disappointing than Gomez and Kostitsyn as offensive performers this year.

we already have Kovalev 2.0, do you really want the original head case back?

Maybe Bob can take BOTH of the for a walk and save some time!

Please no more guys who show uo 1 out of every 10 games!!!!

I would only consider Kovalev if all other options have been exhausted, and he is the last resort to try and boost the offense. However, I would only take him if Ottawa gave 1 of their picks back. Something like Kovalev + Ott 3rd round pick for Mtl 3rd round pick. Even then I don't know if the Habs' should do it, lol.

Kovalev is having a pretty solid stretch here. Think he wants to flirt with Montreal brass again?

I know what you're saying, but he is a lazy player. We have a team that works hard (most of the time) and I think that the way he plays, he is passive and takes chances at good opportunities. Not sold he can make us better

With the young team they have they would be crazy trading Stewart before getting rid of the coach, but Gauthier should definitely inquire about Chris

Habs among one of the 7 teams who have scouts at the Florida-San Jose game.

Considering we don't play either of these teams(Meet florida on the 3rd of March, no more games against the Sharks), it's something to think about.

Booth?
Weiss?
Allen?

No body?

Stewart would look great here, we have a trade history with Colorodo and our GMs appear to be very co-operative.

If we could acquire him without giving up Pacioretty, I'd be thrilled.

Kovalev?

I wouldn't want him, but you know, give him the A, carrying Montreal down the stretch, he's good for at least 30 points the rest of the way. He'd streak like a mofukka
