HK Nitra vs Donbass brawl

goalie goes insane lol (preseason game)

While NHL teams are about a month away from the beginning of training camp, European clubs are already in the middle of their preseason.

During an exhibition game last night between Slovakia's HK Nitra and HC Donbass Donestsk of Ukraine, the teams held a bit of a brawl. Donestsk goalie Evgeny Tsaregorodtsev (and you thought Pierre-Luc Leblond-Letourneau was an equipment manager's nightmare) took it upon himself to become the center of the spat, throwing a temper tantrum and getting into it with fans on his way off the ice:
Yes, at the seven second mark he attempts to bash his stick on an opponent's head and later appears to point to a scoreboard noting his side was in front ... during an exhibition game that Donestsk would win 3-1.

Goalies have always known to be a little eccentric and this continues that stereotype. We also haven't seen a goalie freakout like that since Tuukka Rask(notes) was playing in the AHL.

He certainly made an ass of himself at the end. I'd hope the league drops a nice fat suspension on him for swinging his stick like that.

Pretty cool to see the Nitra guy get up and giving it back to the goalie.

Also notice how many Donbass players go up to the goalie and try to calm him down. You know they were all so embarrassed by his actions.

He had a shutout going at that point but blows it to chop someone for seemingly no reason. Is he a decent goalie outside of that freakout?

Career back up in KHL.

And yeah, props to Martin Baca(number 55 in white) for punching Tsaregorodtsev(goalie) and beating up Donbass defenseman.

Huh? That's what you call beating up?

I don't support the stick swinging but other then that it looks like a fun time. Maybe both these teams can face each other in the KHL one day.
