The other name was Lester Patrick but then I noticed he was already selected.

Stanley will be part of our shut-down 2nd pairing.

Maybe because it isn't 37.

Oh, of course he wasn't. Just about every great player has a period of 6-7 years that really defines their legacy. That was Modano's.

Anyways, sorry for the delay, all.

Might as well start on my blueline now.

Dawson City selects Frantisek Pospisil.

The post says 218 for 181, that's 37. Is there a typo?

EDIT: Nevermind...wasn't paying attention to skipped picks

Excellent pick. I strongly considered him way back when I picked Coulter. He also gives us a chance to show that the Olympic Committee being over the top ******** with its regulations isn't a new development.

I see Pospisil as pretty much Ragulin's equal.

Good point - with skipped picks accounted for, we're really on pick 194 right now. Meaning the trade was just 24 for 45. Not lopsided, though I'd still like to be the guy moving up in that deal.

Patrick is the guy originally listed as Jessica Alba, G in the OP.

Damn, thought I'd be safe to pick Datsyuk at 206 given where he went last year.

Anyway, on with the planned course of action for this pick: D, Bill White.

Edit: Wicked seventies bio: http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=2...&postcount=113

I had him targeted over the other three defensemen who just went (2 of which were 2 and 3 on my list).

I dislike this trade because it strongly suggests ThatGuy and SaltyStyle are asleep at the wheel, but it is not unbalancing enough to seriously consider veto. If I see another foolish trade from those two after missing their window by a couple of days, however, I'm going to veto it on general principle.

I'm about to go to sleep, and I don't want to hold up the draft if we get around the turn while I'm asleep. Can anyone take a list?

Thanks! Im debating if I should pair him with Robinson or use him on a 2nd pairing. I guess it would depend on the opponent for the most part.

Small quote regarding Stanley GHL:

Quote:
Allan has to rank as one of the greatest defensive back liners in the history of the NHL, and it was eventually duly noted while he played. He is not your typical superstar, but a definite important star that every team needs.

The Vancouver Maroons select defenseman Jimmy Thomson

Why am I picking Jimmy Thomson? Well, I did some research, and turns out he's 6'3" 220 lbs! *adjusted size*

I rest my case!

My list was White, Stanley/Thomson. Nice pick, though I'm still not a big fan of adjusted size.

Using that logic, you should have picked Steve McKenna

I'm sorry to delay, but I have to talk to VCL before we pick, but I promise not to hold this up too long.

Supporting cast. 'Nuff said.
