We also got a 2nd rounder from Philadelphia in the Flyers trade...but that's all. We also have all our original picks still.

Is there anyone off our team that could garner us compensation for losing as free agents (well, of any of these stiffs that are left...)

Mironov might get a 6 or 7. Lindros a 2.

Doesn't look like we have anything we can dump for playoff teams unless we resign players again.

I'd take that 2 for Lindros

A question. I was never quite clear on how they determine where the compensation picks are put in the draft. Does it have to do with how much money that player was signed to by another team, or how much value that player held with his former club. I think its the former as that can is more easily quantified than the latter, but I'm not sure. Anyone?

depends. If poti has a good year, then we could proably dupe someone into giving us a second for him (we got one for malakov after all.) I also think that if the dolan's consented to pay some of kaspar's salary that he could bring back a pretty decent hall at the dead line (he seems like the kind of player that a team gearing up for a playoff run would covet, if healthy.) Of course these are two ifs based on a bigger if: will there even be a season?

I didn't think we would get any compensation for Lindros because he was not qualified. I may be wrong. Who knows?

We don't have to qualify him, we just didn't pick up his option. Besides, if we sign a UFA of equal value - say, Brian Rolston - we won't get compensation.
