Top to bottom:
Gaga/eminem
Antebellum
Arcade/Perry
Basically how I felt it should have come out if I was to look at the overall albums. Arcade is basically this years coldplay.
Not just bashing on arcade. The album was just not as solid as the others in the category, IMO. But Im not a musician.
I think Em's album got so much press just because it was his first decent album in such a long time, NOT because it was an outstanding record. I like Gaga, I really do. She's a very smart songwriter with great pop sensibilities. I haven't listened to Lady Antebellum, and I can't imagine that a Katy Perry record, taken on the whole, can measure up to either of the other 4.
I was very excited, if only for the recognition of the creativity coming out of the alternative/indie scene. Its style certainly isn't for everyone, but its wonderful, wonderful musicianship and songwriting. I'm not a musician either, just a huge music nerd.
And for the record, "F... You" is an amazing song. I love it.
I haven't actually listened to any of the albums up for the award in depth, though.
lol. Coldplay makes me wanna smash my face into a wall repeatedly. I feel like Ive popped 3 vicodin when I listen to them. Drowsy.
While Im not a Gaga fan, her album was cohesive and driving front to back.
Em's album was stellar, but not amazing. He needs to drop the producer alex da kid or whatever his name is. Just didnt work well with the ferocity he brings.
I enjoyed watching mumford and sons practically collapse that little stage they were on.
Edit: I feel you BrandNew, ceelos elton john esque getup was hilarious tonight.

12:30? Ugh, I'll need to try and get out of school for that.
Well, I mean...I was about 15-20th in line. But if you're past #125 or so, you're probably not getting tickets. They only release 200. I'd think the latest you'd be able to get there and still get tickets is around 4 pm, but even by then it's probably not likely.

November game I got there a quarter to one and was one of the last to get wristbands. December I got there between and 11:30 and 12 and got a wristband easily. I'd say I was about halfway down the line of people that got wristbands. If you can't get there for anytime earlier then 1 or 1:30, I'd say to not even bother and even those times are cutting it close.
I've been waiting and waiting for weeks to see Josh Homme walk on stage to accept the award for Them Crooked Vultures' song New Fang. I sat through 3 hours, only getting up once for a commercial break, and I didn't see them at all. I'm wicked pissed right now.

LOVE that song. Makes me wish I knew how to play guitar.
This is true! I really should just say "screw it" and give it an honest go.
do itttt. Ive been a percussionist for over 15 years now, and last year I just wanted to be able to sit back and jam late at night, so I picked up my dads acoustic, learned a whole lot of chords, and go on chordie.com and jam out to the Eagles, Bob Dylan, and such. fun times
