Would you sign Allison to this...

A one year deal at the league average much like Kariya had in Colorado and have it incentive ladden so the potential is there to make money if he is able to stay healthy and meet bonuses because of goals met?

1.7 million is a bargain if he plays all year healthy and gets the 70 - 90 points he is capable of getting! Plus if he isn't healthy he is paid by insurance and we walk away after the year is up.

Could be well worth the risk, the added depth at centre and offense would really bless the others in the line up. Who do you check if we also sign Kovy? You have Kovalev, Koivu, Zednik, Ryder, Riberio, Bonk and potentially Hossa, Higgins and the other cast of players...the depth is crazy if it is able to pan out.

Allison will still ask for AT LEAST around 3 mil.
If he gets injured, then insurance pays for his contract, not the Habs.

I bet Lemieux will play more game than Allison.
Conclusion: don't take them in your hockey pool next year :lol

NO.

Id rather go for someone that can help on a constant basis and not be a risk to injury. Insurance may pay, but whos gona help out our offense if he gets hurt!

We need healthy guys!

I remember I have read something like Allison injury wasn't post-concussion, it was a more complex head injury but that as soon that it is healed, their is no repercusion or something like this.

It might be worth a gamble !

Allison will probably ask for a Lindros-like contract. Something like $2M + bonus based on games played, which would go up to $7M+ if he plays all games.

Allison is yet another center. Bonk, Ribeiro, Koivu, Bégin + maybe Plekanec. Do we really want to pay big money for a guy that we don't need and that is a question mark ?

We don't need another center

IMO, Koivu, Ribiero, Bonk and Begin are a very good group of centers. I really hope nothing is done to our center position because I can't remember the last time we were this good at center. Forget Allison, please.

He's big and a right handed shot, not fast.

I'd love to have him on our team (healthy) and would love to dish Ribeiro...

Even if Allison is a constant heatlhy scratch, he's still better than Ribeiro and would have him on my 2nd line anyday ! Big, not really physical but not shy either, slow-footed but sick playmaking skills and awareness on the ice... bigger version of Ribeiro, with less drama ?

Absolutly I would take him, even at 6 million a year. This guy can be a top 5 point producer and hes also big and dominating. Great passer, can score and uses his size very well. He'd definetly become our number 1 center no doubt about it, and we'd be better for it.

Yeah man, that was 2 years ago. Allison is history. Same thing with Lindros and maybe Deadmarsh. You better live in the present tense.

Great reply filled with extraordinary arguents .

How many games has the guy played since being injured? None, so we cant know if he's finished or not until he actually plays a freaking game. Talent doesnt disapear by itself and Allison's injury is not a concussion, when and if it heals, it'll be for good. For me, between Allison and Bonk at 3.5 M theres no question I take Jason.

I cant believe I didnt notice this, Deadmarsh's situation is actually worst and he isnt even half as skilled as JA.

It's not arguments...it's 1 argument. When a player have a concussion, he is prone to having others in the future. Just a little hit and they are done. Now if you have been inactive for 2 years, there's a reason for it. You had an incredibly big concussion. Even Lindros didn't stopped for 2 years. And now you're laughing at my argument? There is nothing to laugh about, it's just the simple truth. Yeah I admit that Allison is a very good hockey player, who is worth taking the risk but don't expect much from this player. And for the Bonk-Allison talk, theres no question on my side too, i take Jason. But overall, we are better with Bonk since he is not injury prone. You have a doctor avatar, you should know this.

Its really too bad that Players like Allison and Lindros are going through these concussions. The league would be better with them playing. I'd love to see Allison in a Habs Uni, but not taking one of the young guy's spots, especially when one shot to the pumpkin can end his career, and maybe even his life.
