This entire season actually played out during the summer with the exception of the last two episodes.

In a strange way, I enjoyed Lip being right about Monica. Fiona had sufficiently been able to shoo away threats, including Frank, and including Monica once before. She fell it this time.

That was the most intense episode of Shameless to date. It makes you really wonder what's going to happen with the finale.

Yeah, I figured it would be along those lines.

A great season, but not so sure about how they really ended it. Shelia and Jody are starting to steal the show.

That's not all they're stealing? Is that the joke?

That finale was mostly B-rate melodrama. This show shouldn't have started to take itself so seriously.

Also, Karen: please don't come back! Thanks.

I 100% disagree. When it doesn't take itself so seriously it turns into B rate comedy for poor people. The last half of the season especially the final two episodes are what I need to see to keep watching. I need emotional attachment to the characters to go along with the comedy aspects or just another show.

Well we obviously watch the show for different reasons. I watch for the resourcefulness of the kids despite everything and the not infrequent witty lines (for example, "this isn't got pulled over with a half joint in the ashtray pot, this is Mexican cartel 60 years in the federal slammer pot. Kevin, there's a couple of tons of weed down here and I'm black.") I thought the episodes with Monica in the first season, which had a lot of "dramatic" heft, were well done; this last episode not so much.

Also, I don't know what you mean by "comedy for poor people." What people find amusing depends little on their wealth, and this show never exactly veers toward Adam Sandler territory either if that's what you meant.

There are a couple things that bother me.

-The DJ Fiona had a crush on. That really went no where & had no purpose.

-The Amy Smart character. Once again there doesn't seem to be a purpose & there was no resolution what so ever.

-Tony the Cop living next door. Was barely mentioned this season.

I think the writing could have been a little bit better planned. Besides that my favorite part of the season will be Kevin trying to learn to read. "Cat starts with a C!!!! Your lying I know that **** starts with a K"

^ Kevin is the best he's my favorite character.

What I like about is that its not strictly a comedy but it has enough lulz moments.

And I agree there were some things that went nowhere though. Still don't understand how Liam is black.

Monica had sex with a black man. That's how these things work.

No, Liam is Frank's child. Frank's grandmother had sex with a black man or something so there's black blood in them or something ridiculous. Doesn't make much sense but they took a paternity test I believe and Liam was Frank's.

Season 3 a few days away? have been really looking forward to this coming back, definitely one of my favourites. Let's see how low Frank can go this season, and let's see some more Emmy Rossum

Only watched the british show on Netflix before last Sunday when I watched most of the 2nd season. I thought it was pretty hilarious though, as ridiculous as some of the characters are.

Blah, they moved it from 10pm on Sundays. Going to have to make a decision each week on which to watch.

I hope it doesn't get too formulaic. Some of the episodes I hate the most are the "get in trouble, crazy scheme, get out of trouble" Hopefully they can replicate the best parts of season which were brilliant.
