Besides all the jokes on Shelleys great offensive skill.

He is actually a responsible defensive player. He will block shots. A good locker room guy with leadership.

Yeah i know its a bad thing to say good things about Shelley.

Yeah I have found that Shelley knows where to be on D, but he is still damn slow and still a liability. Better than a lot of tough guys though.

That is why he gets shelled in on the 4th line. His skating stride is funny.. I cringe when i see him stuck on the ice against the other teams top line.

According to nhl.com, Versteeg has 21 giveaways and 40 takeaways. The only people who have less are JVR, Briere, Zherdev and the 4th liners. His takeaway numbers are tops on the team. I see no problem with his game

Capgeek still has him on the roster
Lappy was put on the LTIR on 12/14 to make room for Leighton and Walker.

Quote:
2010/12/14: Ian Laperriere has been placed on long-term injured reserve by Philadelphia. The move was made to allow the Flyers to make room on their salary cap for the pending activation of goaltender Michael Leighton. Laperriere has not played this season due to post-concussion symptoms.
So they should be good at 23.

I hope both he and Zherdev come in next game for Shelley and Carcillo.

I'd like to see these lines.

JVR-Richie-Versteeg
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
Zherdev-Carter-Giroux
Shelley/Powe-Betts-Nodl

The top 9 is sick nasty.

Nodl should stick to being a shutdown forward. His offensive potential is limited. He is what he is.

Maybe I am imagining things, but wasn't Versteeg a center for the Hawks last year?

I agree. Especially against Tampa. They really don't have a "fighter" (besides Downie). No need for Shelley to be in. Z takes his spot, and Versteeg can take Carcillo's. Need to show Tampa their place in the standings. There's a reason why they're second in the conference, and not first.

He played in some games. He played on Dave Bollands line. Bolland was center.

But Versteeg can play the center.

It might be because they give up as many goals as they score. . . they are playing really well lately and Rolo can steal a game or two for them

People moaning about losing the pick? Yet again, draft picks prove to be dramatically over-rated.

You are on Hockey's future board, keep that in mind. It can get pretty comedic at times...

Confirmed that Versteeg will wear #32

Not sure if it's been mentioned.

HE'S GOT BIG SHOES TO FILL WITH THAT NUMBER
