Hemsky is good but seems to be injured a lot which will hurt his value. In a weak draft like this one I'd give up a late 1st for him.

A prospect and a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Only if that prospect is top tier. B. Schenn or J. Bernier from LA come to mind. Otherwise, the "prospect" should be changed to "young NHL defenseman".

You know what, I don't expect Hemsky to get traded, at least this year. ST is a thinker and very slow at making decisions. He will do the easy thing and the easy thing, right now, is nothing and retain Hemsky and Penner rather than take the chance on making a poor deal. Next year, he won't have a choice but to make a move and I would expect one or both gone by 2012 deadline.

True. If Hemsky was soft he wouldn't get injured like he does.

So hes worth less than Fisher or Versteeg.

Now that's funny.

Hemsky soft? C'mon you can't be serious. The guy constantly goes into the corners taking on big bruising dmen, he gives up at least 50 lbs! That is the reason he gets hurt, he wants the puck.

If the Oilers had some players with size that could play some decent minutes, the other teams wouldn't take liberties on our players like they do.

To Pittsburgh : Ales Hemsky

To Edmonton : Max Talbot, Eric Tangradi, 1st Rd 2011

Max is good on a dot, is over 50%, play lot of PK minutes, great skater ...

...and of course

Bogosian isn't nearly as valuable now as Schenn is.

This is the most ridiculous statement I've heard.

He's at best worth a mid first plus an additional pick or MARGINAL prospect.

I'd rather a 1st over Tangradi. There's still going to be plenty of good prospects left late in the 1st and we could fill a need rather than adding another winger.

With such a weak draft this year, the Oilers should just hang on to Hemsky and sign him to an extension or trade him for a blue chip prospect.

I don't think Hemsky will get you a blue chip prospect, well... IF Blue chip is Schenn or that tier of prospect.

Maybe Bogosian or the likes, as in potentially "blue chip" prospects who haven't quite thrived in their current market
