For those who keep asking, yes the Bruins still have much interest in Kaberle...

My phone is lighting up over Brian Burke telling Michael Felger on @98.5TheSportsHub that he is currently in trade talks with Peter Chiarelli.

Has to be Kaberle.

He's just burying his own team deeper and deeper into a hole.

I hope that screams, "stay away" to Glen. Really hope we're out of it, if that's what's necessary.

Apparently, Kaberle is about to waive his NTC, and is expected to be dealt within 24-72 hours.
Eric Christensen + WAS 2nd + NYR 2nd '12(conditional if he re-signs before July 1st)

Looks like Burke is trying to drum up a counter-offer from another team to try and put Boston against the wall. Don't know if I see it happening though.

If Kaberle does go to Boston, those two teams make the most inter-division trades I've ever seen. And not just minor ones either.

Sportsnet's learned Kaberle has granted #Leafs permission to speak to 1 team only regarding potential trade. As of now that team is #Bruins

If that is true, then Burke won't get anything.

Burke's doing a better job building the Bruins than Chiarelli is

What a dope.

If true:

Now do you think Burke trades Kaberle to another team so they can flip him to the BRuins?

I cant tell if that was sarcasm but I am going to assume it wasn't. That package would be a great deal for the Rangers. Kaberle is a top-10 offensive defenseman in the NHL with playoff experience and leadership qualities any team would covet.

Nope. If he is going to be dealt to Boston they will just trade him there.

Sounds like we'll be settling for a McCabe or Allen or Phillips this year.

Its interesting, because teams don't seem to be bothering to wait until deadline day to make their deals this year.

Tomas Kaberle has not waived no trade clause. He has indicated to TOR he may look favorably on trade to BOS, but no commitment's been made.

I like Allen on the cheap, size and some skill. Phillips has never been traded and has a higher price, wonder how he'd react to new stage, a very big one.

Teams are so close in points this year and with the injuries to some major players, and first half bottom feeders playing much better everyone is adding early with points at a premium.

I like the idea of adding Allen, Phillips, Wideman or Hejda depending on the price of all of them. I like the idea of adding a stabilizing force on the 3rd pair whether it be one of the players I listed above or McDonagh or Sauer when one of those players push them down.

But like McKenzie said earlier, the Leafs don't need his permission to talk to other teams about him. So, no, it's only Boston.

A caller just called into the "Power Play" and made a very solid point that I have been trying to get across for a while now. He stated that the Rangers have been linked to a few different defensemen in which the hosts agreed. And then he went on to ask if they had heard anything regarding the Rangers being linked to a player who can drop the gloves and play the game. Specifically asked about Chris Neil.

They said that there will be quite a few teams who will line-up for the services of Chris Neil because he is the type of player who can give you quality minutes and can be a difference-maker in a longer series because of the way he plays. I agree.

Pure speculation on my part:
With the acquisition of Fischer, some Preds fans were saying Tootoo may be the odd-man out of their line-up and may be semi-available depending on what is coming back. He would be a player I would LOVE the Rangers to get a hold of. He is a top-tier middle-weight just like Prust and still young. Perfect fit for this system.

On NHL radio they talk about Kaberle from time to time.

Apparently, Kaberle hates Burke so much, he didn't want to waive his NTC just to spite the Maple Leafs.

Now, I don't know if that's true, but do we really want a guy that carries that stigma?

BTW, yea, upon review, my proposal for Richards rights was way too steep. But hey, that's why I rarely make trade proposals.
