The Kings have tons of D prospects they'd probably be more likely to part with than Bernier. I just don't see DL trading Bernier or Quick for at least another year. They have no reason to and plenty of reason not to.

Jesus Christo it is so annoying not being able to edit posts but...

HeyDuke also has a NTC which is going to limit what teams the Avs can deal him to and will drive down his value a bit. That is if he is even open to the idea of being traded and being traded to LA.

As do Jones (in fewer games too). Hence, a guy with 19 goals scored would be leading the Kings in goal scoring.

Uhh..

I get what you mean. But, I would go with tied. That's how I see it anyways.

Really no reason for the attitude.

No thanks to Bernier. He's definitely not worth the price, and when did he become a proven NHL tender? For the rest of the comments on Hejduk/Jones... Well, they aren't worth arguing against.

Apparently a 22 year old goalie with the grand total of 23 NHL appearances qualifies as just that round these parts...

HF Boards make me laugh.

Basically the best goalie prospect in the world right now. But ya, like the other guy said. You wouldn't want him. You have two wonderful goalies whom both have a sv% in the 8's and GAA in the 3.2's...

Hedjuk isn't spare parts.

Bernier is exactly what the Av's need though and Hedjuk while a great player, is nearing the end of his career.

I would love to have Hedjuk, but not at the expense of Bernier.

And naturally you blame that on the goalie... You ever watch the Avalanche? Bernier is barely better in save percentage. Look at Anderson's sv percentage in a back-up role. Bernier would, at the time being, do nothing for us. When we have Pickard "whom's" in development, there is no point in spending assets to attempt to treat symptoms...

Cheers

I do watch the Avs actually. They are my second favorite team, which to my torture means that I have to endure watching Anderson as well.

Deal makes little sense as Hejduk will likely sign with COL again as an UFA. If LA deals Bernier it will be for immediate and long term help. COL liked Voynov when the teams were talking trade about Smyth so maybe a Bernier and Voynov for C.Stewart deal?

ok id give either of our goalies, jones and hejduk, and a second for bernier right now, i just cannot stand watching budaj and anderson, even tho he does have a huge upside he is unproven, and i think jones also had upside and potential still(for bernier straight up)

Kings' fans overate Bernier's value. Sure he's one of the best goalie prospects on the planet, but he hasn't proven anything, and goaltenders just aren't worth that much (relatively speaking) on the market these days.

That said, Jones hasn't proven much either. His numbers are impressive this year, but he hasn't even completed a full season in the NHL yet.

With goalies as they're are so few elite ones out there, is that I would rather Bernier prove he isn't elite with us, than trade him for a highly skilled, albeit aging UFA and prove later that he is.

Is that overrating Bernier, or protecting ourselves from sending the next Roy to the Avs for peanuts?

Start with Chris Stewart and instead of Jones, sub in T.J. Galiardi.
