Honestly, as bad as Gomez has been lately, Kostitsyn has been far worse. Sure he takes the body once in a while, but he is in a horrible prolonged slump. Every time he tries to generate something, it's so predictable. He will make a move or receive a pass, but then when he goes to shoot or move the puck, it will roll right off his stick and become a turnover to the other team. Incredibly frustrating to watch.
It's really too bad. If even one of Gomez or Kostitsyn was playing decently, with Cammy coming back, we'd only need one top 6 forward. Plus we have an offense-generating third line. As it stands, gonna be interesting to see how and if Gauthier handles the issues.
Gomez and AK have been slumping lately, but you can't say they haven't played well since the Boston game. They have generated chances but not finished, at somne point the dam will break.
I would like to see Gomez back with Gionta and AK back with Cammy, both duos have had good chemistry.
The kid bleeds Bleu Blanc Rouge and always dreamed of playing for the Canadiens. Get used to it, he'll be here for a long time... just like Markov, he'll surely take the hometown discount. This guy is all passion, professionnalism comes 2nd.
I love Subban, easily my favourite player in years.
That being said, the little I saw of last night's game featured a moment when he tried to clear the puck on the PK and handed the puck right over to a Sabre who tossed it in front of the net to another guy who couldn't finish.
Also amusing that you refer to a 22 year old 2nd round draft pick goalie as a "3rd string goalie from the AHL", as if we're not supposed to consider the fact that some day soon your team EXPECTS him to be as good as he was last night.
With all the injuries this season very difficult to get excited about making a 3rd seed run or a playoff run. I mean we have had to deal with Markov and Gorges, Cammaleri but now every night someone else is going down, just doesn't seem to give us any time to get on a roll. And then theres Gomez
