Bogosian wants out of Atlanta

Just mentioned by Kypreos on Hockey Central. "It would be in there best interest to trade him now"

I re-opened this thread because we have some confirmation from someone who rewound their DVR and can quote what was said.

the Sportsnet crew was talking about players most likely to moved by the deadline and they had Bogosian at the top of their list.

Just rewound my DVR and Kypreos had this to say...

"a lot of steam on him being moved...he hasn't officially asked for a trade but he wants out to the point that he wouldn't even go back to Atlanta next year."

My guess would be to Boston for Toronto's 1st and Stuart.

Any reason why he is unhappy in Atlanta?

The scuttlebutt is he and the assistant coach Torchetti (who I assume runs the defence) have NOT gotten along at all.

Kypreos

I sure hope Edmonton go after Bogosian, he has great size and would be beneficial to Edmonton with how physical the west can be at times.

Honestly, what is the reason he wants out I wonder. This just has to be frustrating as an ATL fan, The string of good players to want to leave for one reason or another.

I wonder why he would want out this badly...

I would guess one of Edmonton or Boston picks him up.

Atl: Hemsky +
Oilers: Bogosian

Makes sense for both teams IMO, especially if Bogosian wants out. Helps Atlanta make a playoff push and the Oilers fill a huge need on D which allows them to take either Courtier or RNH with their first at the draft. DO IT UP TAMBO!

Watch for a darkhorse team like DET to deal for Bogo by offering valuable young assets like Kindl, Nyquist and a pick.

Yep, Torch runs the defense. That rumor has been flying around for about a week now. It was definitely downplayed. There was something about getting less PP time behind Buff & Enstrom. He's been playing well lately after being in a funk for a bit. Sounds like the kid needs to grow up, if the rumors are true. Torchetti is a respected coach. Whatever the case, Atlanta should hold onto Bogosian.

Stuff like, "It's to the point that he won't come back next year." is total b/s. 1. Rumor mongers. 2. Then what would he do? Play in the KHL? Let's see how he likes the coaches over there.

We're all disappointed Doughty has blossomed and Bogosian hasn't really yet. But give it time, and everyone should be happy.

Maybe he just doesn't favor his chances when Atlanta has Enstrom and Buf pretty much locked up for the 1st pair for years to come.
