Calgary wore their white uniforms at home vs the Avs tonight. Anyone know the reason why?

NJ @ Anaheim. I get the feeling this one will be like 7-6.

Part of me agrees. But the other part would love to see NJ go back home at 2-11-1.

With respect to how some NJ fans have been acting lately, I am with you: here is to the Devils returning home 2-11-1.

Yes this is a tough one. Having NJ hating life would be nice. I was just thinking that if NJ wins one and loses one this weekend I would rather it be the Kings game the Devils lose. With how bad the Devils D has been so far this year, I am not worried about them making the playoffs. I normally don't start crossing teams off the post season list until at least 20 or even 40 games have been played but...

I dont want to see them stink up the bottom of the standings, becauase they dont deserve a top pick...i want to see them squeak into the playoffs, and get crushed in the first round. So thier pick wont be a top 10, and still have to scrap for cap space. They are really close to being in a black hole...

Huh, I for one would love to see the Ducks make the playoffs as the 8 seed then get trounced in the first round by the 1 seed (you know who). So Cal needs to see their two teams go at it in the playoffs.

So go ducks! (You'll never see me type that again!)

Come on now, let's not all seem so petty. We are talking about a team with Brodeur (who I respect as a hockey player, at least).

I would say, don't root for NJ to fail, but (considering the fans) laugh it up if/when they do.

To that effect, thus far -

Actually, from everything I'm reading (since I'm not personally a scout or GM), next year is supposed to be a fairly weak draft. If they're going to get a high pick some time, next year seems the best time to give it to 'em.

well..there is Larsson, who will probably go no 1 or 2.. and will be the perfect fit for NJ.

Googled the Mickey Mouse reference. Anyone have some mouse ears?

Quote:
Back in the day, maybe before you were born, the Devils were an awful team. This especially coincided with when they wore green pants (rather than black). That could be a coincindence, I don't know. Anyways, when the high-powered Edmonton Oilers rolled through the swamp, and obliterated the hapless Devils (yet again), the normally diplomatic Wayne Gretzky called the Devils "a Mickey Mouse organization". Well that made ripples, and I think even until the day Gretzky retired, whenever he visisted the Meadowlands, the fans would don Mickey Mouse ears, and taunt Mr.G with various Disney references. These tauntings must have been especially poignant when Gretzky's floundering Rangers had to lock horns with then now powerhouse Devils on a regular basis.
Quote:
If you call anything a "Mickey Mouse ________" then you are implying that it is not a high quality SERIOUS thing. When Gretzky called the Devils a Mickey Mouse Organization he meant that they were just kid stuff, not a REAL big league team.

Pretty good little scrap between Matt Cooke and Mike Richards off the opening draw.

Shelley and Engelland follow suit 25 seconds later.

Don't look now, but the Hawks are down 6-3 to Edmonton at the end of 2.

I've been watching that game. Edmonton has looked like all-stars tonight. Turco was HORRIBLE and was pulled after the 1st period.

Blake scores on the PP. 1-0 _ucks.

Both teams are terrible. _ucks have taken a lot of penalties, but scored on their first PP.

Half way through the second.
