Kypreos is just being stupid. Why are we trusting him? When has he ever proved reliable for news?

If Bogosian wants out of Atlanta check the Atlanta board or Bruins board.

If he goes anywhere it'll probably be to Boston for the TOR 1st+

I wouldn't want him... great talent, but we're weak up front.

OUr D appears to be stacked for years to come... so unless he's a cheap acquisition, no thank you.

I'd ditch Kadri for Bogo for sure.

Make the Kabs deal now Burke. Before Boston trades for Bogo.

Awful trade. Wheeler, Hamill and a ~20-25th pick isn't going to convince them to give up Bogosian.

Toronto gives up a rental + very late 3rd rounder

Atlanta gives us a former top 5 pick and a 13-20 pick

We have nothing we'd be willing to deal for him plus the fact that we're set on defense for a while with young d-men...why the hell would we give up assets for him when its evident we lack scoring punch?

I hear Weber wants out of Nashville, why not go for the big fish?

I think Schenn and Weber are friends too.

Schenn -Weber
Phaneuf - Aulie
Komisarek - Gunnarson

Burke HAS got to replace Kaberle when he's traded, Ian White was one of the few who really flourished under Wilson. I'm confident that White is on Burke's radar. Whether it be now, or during the offseason when he's a UFA.
White is a UFA in the offseason. Why trade for him?

Leafs first and Wheeler, seeing as the Bruins just acquired a potential replacement for him.

Trade Kaberle to Boston for 1st rounder +

Acquire Bogosian for Kadri.

Phaneuf - Bogosian
Aulie - Schenn
Gunnarsson - Komisarek

I can see it.

We need either a) a center (which Boston doesn't have), b) a prospect, or c) a pick.
As much as Burke talked about Top 6/Bottom 6 when he came in, could be that he's changed his mind?

A lot of the best teams in the league go have 3 lines of offensively gifted players, and an energy line. The Top 3 lines may be labelled 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but really, it's about finding players that play well together and rolling the lines to apply continuous offensive pressure and making it difficult for the opponent to key in on one line.

Versteeg was played on the third line most of the season, so maybe Wilson wants to role three lines.

If you look at it that way, maybe Wheeler is seen by Burke as a bigger, faster, cheaper, though less productive replacement for Versteeg.

Leafs need Kadri a lot more than they need a guy like Bogosian, mostly because they already have a guy liek Bogosian in Phaneuf. They play exactly the same type of game.

So...last game for Kaba?
This move by Boston deffinatly peaks everyones interest as its obvious they're gearing up to depart with a forward or two.

Burke, Rick Curran and Boston managment have been so tight lipped about this entire thing, and thats the way they want it to be.

This thing wont exactly leak until the day they decide to pull the trigger and they start informing players and their families.

That being said, there is obviously discussions being had between the two teams with Kaberle being the focal point.

At this rate, it'll get done...but the question is, what pieces will be coming Torontos way, and will pieces be attached along with Kaberle (picks, Bozak, prospect?).

Blake Wheeler has always been a topic of discussion in Burke circles, but you can be sure Burkes prime target is going to be Marchand. Burke will also have to absorb salary, so we could very well see a Wheeler + Boston 1st + Mark Stuart/Boychuk type of deal.

Regardless, interesting times in Toronto!

I'd only make this trade if we get good return in kaberle's return, we can give up one of the first rounders and then a shutdown defensemen to them, possible one of holzer or mikus.

This is definitely interesting speculation all around.

Could it be some combination of Marchand, Colborne, Ryder for Kaberle 3rd +? Wheeler seems like a likely candidate, but I'm not a huge fan of his game. There aren't too many player combinations someone hasn't named. Can't wait to see what the return is (if there is indeed one)

I could see these kind of deals

Ryder + Colborne + 1st Bos(condition he resigns) FOR Kaberle

Wheeler + Caron + 1st Bos(condition he resigns) FOR Kaberle + 3rd(coditional he resigns)

Hamill + Colborne + 3rd FOR Kaberle + 5th

Stuart + Colborne + 1st Bos(condition he resigns) FOR Kaberle
