If they would have blown that, the game in Tampa yesterday would have meant much less.

RT @OnFrozenPond Pete DeBoer: "I'm at a loss. You show 100 people that play and 100 people will say it's a goal yet Toronto says it isn't. What are you going to do?"

I hear ya Pete but the camera never showed it completely over the goal line. Maybe another camera angle would have shown it but the ones I saw on Comcast didn't show a conclusive view.

Nodl should have been first star. Goal, assist, and a save

Seriously though, how that goal didn't count is beyond me. Florida got jobbed. Our gain though.

very true. i'd feel worse if that hadn't happened to us plenty of times.

I'm positive we've been on the receiving end of that call before. You have to see it in the net. You can't assume. I've learned it the hard way, so should everyone else.

I'm not sure what the cost would be but this is why for a few years I've been thinking they should have the chip or what ever from the glow puck years on fox. No for regular play, but so that even when the puck is covered it could be seen if it was over the line or not. I think that would eliminate a lot of controversy and would increase scoring by virtue of goalies/teams not being about to 'get away with one'. Though in this case I don't mind it worked out for us.

Two goals that weren't counted have given us two wins that were ties in the last month. Things have definitely gone our way with the officiating this year.

I suggest that no one on the boards is allowed to say the S-word for the remainder of the season or play-offs. This ban of course would be lifted upon the completion of a game with zero goals against. Which after this post is a possibility/subject that I will refuse to acknowledge in any way.

Do you mean the infamous Jan 11, 2010 game against the Penguins and the Case of the Hidden Camera Angle? The other shots show the puck to logically be across the line, but not definitively.

Versteeg looks pretty good out there. He is quick and good with the puck. Him and Richards seem to be developing some chemistry! And JVR has been playing like a beast lately and not just with the puck. He seems to be checking people that much harder. Now just if they can put the full effort in for the whole game and not just in spots.

Aren't we missing a few traditions post-win? I know CharlieGirl is in the penalty box (won't second-guess the Mods but am flabbergasted), but where's MSE with the wine? Where is NPH / Elmo? Is this what we've come to?

Weak win over terrible team is unsatisfying.

Yes I would be very pissed in the Flyers lockerroom right now.

Meh; we played last night for 60+ minutes. I expected a win but I didn't expect it to be pretty.

I was kind of happy to see Briere out there in the dying seconds; if you actually think about it, the reason why we don't score a lot of empty netters is because our D and defensive minded forwards out there in the dying seconds don't want to leave their positions to try and get an empty net goal. Most teams have two D, two defensive minded forwards and one cherry picker out there to pressure the points and try an push the puck out of the zone to get an empty netter (however this tactic only works on teams that aren't good offensively like Florida, the Wild, Coyotes etc... because those teams don't usually tie up games late)
