When asked about night off... Miller: "Another step towards Hasek"

@BillHoppeSabres #Sabres Ryan Miller on not dressing on his night off Tuesday: "Another step closer to Hasek."

Well, I guess that means its time to start shopping that miserable ***** around. Guy gets his first lay that counts as a woman and gets all cocky. Gotta love it.

EDIT: Apparently he was joking.

Such a small "quote". Guaranteed that it's totally taken out of context or not even an actual Miller quote at all.

Unless of course Miller means another step closer to Hasek in terms of the next time some bonehead reporter gets in his grill they're gonna get Jim Kelley'd.

Here is the interview. It was mentioned at the end. I think he was just trying to be funny

But, is it alright to speculate why he said "another"?

I'm not even sure what you're implying with the quote.

I hope this doesn't mean that Hasek is remembered negatively by the Sabres organization.

He deserves to have his number retired.

That's just Miller's view, none of this has to do with the organization. With new ownership, I would hope it's only a matter of time until Hasek gets his jersey retired. Though he should retire himself first

Wow. Holy overreaction, batman!

If you're explicitly going to give a goalie a rest, why have him sit on the bench. Hypothetically, Enroth gets shelled and then Miller ends up playing 2+ periods of hockey.

With Hasek needing an hour to stretch his groin pre-game, having him come off the bench as a replacement at a moment's notice made no sense.

As for "another"? I dunno, maybe because he's:

A. A Goalie
B. A Sabre
C. A Vezina trophy winner.
D. He chose to wear #39 at the Olympics, when #30 wasn't available.

Agreed. I also hope Dom decides to go into the HOF as a Sabre.

It's not like the Baseball HOF. Players don't go in as the member of any one team. They go in representing every team they played for.

Yawn, nothing big. It seems like this town is ready to throw Miller under the bus. Good Lord.

When I first read this, I read it as Miller looking to leave this organization for a shot at winning the Stanley cup.

I still love my Millsy. But I seriously think we should attempt to get something for Enroth. I say we play him a lot before the deadline to get teams interested. There is no way he sits content behind Miller for the next 4+ years.

He needs to bring his A-game this sunday thats all I know. Obviously first things first on Friday vs. the Blues but Sunday on "Hockey DAY in THE USA" should be his redemption day.

This has been beaten to death. There is almost no market for goalies, especially guys who haven't proven anything at the NHL level.

Miller can keep playing, but for what we'd get for him, I wouldn't move Enroth.

Yeah, why would you move Enroth for a 3rd or 4th rounder. Nutty.

BTW,
How come Hasek's number isn't retired. Is there a reasonable explanation? To me he's #1 or #2 all-time Sabre with only Perrault in the running. Lafontaine's career with Sabres doesn't come close.

Sounds like he wasn't happy with Sabres management.

Yeah, I remember when Hasek left, he was asked in an interview about the HOF and he said "Detroit."

What I meant was, I don't think he really had any issues with the fans or the team itself. He probably thought that Sabres management didn't care that much about winning and that he'd have a better chance of winning somewhere else (such as Detroit, where they clearly care about winning). And if that's what he thought, he was obviously correct.

Hasek is the best goalie of all time and had his best seasons with us. Pegula wants to bring a winning atmosphere to Buffalo. As a Hasek fan, I hope that they'll be able to create a friendship.
