Pierre Durocher - The 4 Untouchables

http://ruefrontenac.com/pierreduroch...y-canadien-lnh

Durocher believes there are only 4 untouchables on the Habs which he would not trade under any circunstances.

1. Carey Price
2. PK Subban
3. Max Pacioretty
4. Tomas Plekanec

JM says Tom Pyatt is untouchable

Gomez is untouchable as well since no other team in the league wants to touch him.......................

Hopefully the Gomer can get back on track he isn't as bad as he has been this year.

I other news, Toronto won't make the playoffs.

He didn't really went overboard with this list. They are all young and brillant players that we hope are gonna make the core of our future team for the '10s

The massive amount of calculations & computer resources it must have taken to come up with that list!

I agree with the first three

As for Plekanec , i would trade him but , to paraphrase the author , only under the right circumstances. IE : Getzlaf wants out of Anaheim and the Ducks need an immediate replacement so they ask for Plekanec + or some other crazy and unprobable scenario like that.

Well, then really our only true untouchable is Price. There are a few d-men I would give up PK for, say a guy like Rick Nash is available and the jackets want Max..I'm sure we'd do that too.

Being a fan of Price since the start and his play so far this year, there is really no goalie I would trade him for considering his best is still yet to come.

There are no such things as untouchables. With the right price, any player is tradeable.

I had the same list, except at number 4 I had Gorges. I'd forgotten about Pleks - interesting...

Can we have 5 untouchables, please?

Of course but should Markov be the 5th on this list? I mean in a way he is since he is out for the year and cannot be traded along with being a UFA...but I still think we need to try hard to resign him.

That would send a message to everyone in the league... and not a good one.

There are a lot of people that would disagree with him. Look at some of the trade proposals that have been put forward

Completely agreed.
If Pittsburgh is offering Crosby, Malkin and Fleury for those 4 players, I'll do it without a thought. I even offer them Gomez for free

Getzlaf is the only player I'd trade Plekanec for.

(Obviously I'd trade Pleks for Crosby, Stamkos, Ovy, but that is NEVER happening.)

I would say (in no particular order):

- Carey Price
- P.K. Subban
- Max Pacioretty
- Brian Gionta
- Tomas Plekanec

* Brian Gionta because he is a great captain and should stay with the youth long term.

How so ?

Hockey is a business and if you have a chance to upgrade at a minimal cost , you do it. At least that's how i see it.

That's a good and fair point and i have to agree when i think about it.

I also consider Price the untouchable of untouchables if that makes any sense.

I don't think he's a untouchable but I'm really surprise by Pouliot play this season. He put good numbers with almost zero PP time. I hope gauthier sign him for at least 3 years with a low cap hit
