Absolutely not. Edmonton keeps Hemsky and plays any of Plante, Marincin, Petry, Peckham, Blaine, Davidson, all of whom are going to be better or similar to Teubert. Simmonds is not required at this point (because Oilers suck and noone cares for now) and you sure don't trade your best trade chip for a complimentary player.

Value is there for the Kings, probably tilted in their favor, but doubtful that DL is looking to move roster players let alone young ones that are valuable contributors and bring the grit he loves. So, no. Picks and prospects are what the Kings have to offer in abundance.

Yeah, I say no. If we trade Hemsky, there had better be a better prospect involved than Teubert. I like Simmonds, but a third line grinder and a b level prospect are not going to do it for me.

They'll all be as good or better as Teubert? No.

Simmonds is a great player. Lots of heart and a banger. He's a great 3rd liner, where as Hemsky is easily one of the top 30 RW's in the league(25th in scoring even with missing 17 games). Hemsky's injury history will be and that raises some questions for me about Simmonds as well. He's feirce but how long can he play the same game with that frame? Not crazy about Voynov either as we have Whitney, Petry, Gilbert who can move the puck. Also have recent draft picks Marincin, and Jeremie Blain who are both progressing very nicely in juniors(both close to a ppg).

No I suppose you can't say all but they all have the legitimate potential to be. My point was that Teubert isn't destined to be a first pairing dman.

Nooooooo.
Teuberts offense was a product of our very own Jordan Eberle. Lots of question marks about his game. Plante, and Peckham are the only two that play a similar style to Tuebert. Peckham is the Oilers new stay at home defenseman and a fan favorite(Teuberts upside 3/4). Plante I think is in the same boat as Teubert. Has all the tools just needs to put it together but long shots at best.

The Deal is Close IMO. It needs just a little more, I would go...

Simmonds
Teubert or Forbort
LA 1st

for

Hemsky
Edm 2nd

I know Oilers fans don't like the lack of 'Star' player coming back, but kings Traded a Star Defenseman to us for 2 solid role players and ended up winning that deal. I would consider this.

All of them no, but Marincin I truly believe will be a Stud on the backend.

You guys are ridiculous.

Schenn is still boom or bust, hemsky would instantly become a fixture on the topline with kopitar.

schenn is still 2-3 years away from having a significant impact on the kings, just sayin

Prior to Dregers comments and reading other blogs I agreed with you but now not so much.

Agreed, if they want to hang onto Schenn then I would expect nothing less than their 1st, defence prospect, and young roster player

LA 1st, Forbert, Simmonds

Hemsky, EDM 2nd 2011

The chance of Schenn not being at least a 2nd liner in the NHL is somewhere around 0.

take the 2nd out and its fair IMO

LA 1st will be around 15-20, forbort is a top 4 guy, simmonds is a 3rd line guy, no studs comingto edmonton...

maybe a 4th...not a 2nd

I agree, but we already have our second line center in Gagner. Hemsky is a 1st line player on most teams. If we are serious in trading Hemsky it should fill one of two needs. 1st line center/top pairing defenceman. Schenn IMO is neither one.
