Well, from the Habs POV I do it. That can't bode well for its overall doability, right... ?

Seems like fair value, but can you really put a price on a wealth of giggles?

Sure it would make the Bruins hate us even more, but no thanks to Ott.

Are you serious ? Ott= 3rd liner or 4th liner that has the same job that Maxim Lapierre had with us . What happened to him ? He got traded because he had no hockey skill . Yea sure AK is not consistent but he is and will continue to be a top 6 forward. Never and i mean NEVER would i trade him for a annoying 3rd line player who makes his other line mates look bad.

You are saying Ott is work nothing which is obviously a sign you don't watch Dallas games but once a year!

So tell me who is Ott supposed to play ahead of in Dallas? Richards, Eriksson, Neal, Benn, Morrow or Ribeiro? So of course he is on the 3rd line. Ott has offensive ability but his primary role is to make it hard for other teams play Dallas.

Dude do you have any idea how much potential AK has when he actually works hard . Did you think that about SK when he left here ? Of course not because he didnt work hard . But if AK works hard he can be a 30 goal scorer and a top 6 player . Unlike Ott who is a 20 goal scorer and a 3rd,4rth liner . Big difference.

There is so many what if's in you paragraph its beyond ridiculous! Ott has out performed him the last 2 seasons and is a mere 7 points behind him this season. So to sit here and say he as far more potential than Ott without tangible proof from an NHL perspective is plain wrong!

Did you see what happened to his brother when he went to play in a different environment ? He became a good top 6 player when he was AHL bound here . I tend to think that would happen with AK dont you ?

Haha good luck with that then.

As for the proposal, no thanks. Ott fills an important role on this team(3rd line center, great on faceoffs) that Kostitsyn couldnt fill.

A couple things:

- 20 goal-scoring 3rd liners don't grow on trees.

- AK is not yet a 30 goal scorer, and saying that he could be if he worked hard isn't exactly a glowing reflection on the player.

- In addition to picking up a reasonable number of goals and assists while checking the other team's best players, Ott is a valued penalty killer and currently sits 4th in the league in faceoff %.

On the face of things, this trade consists of a player who scores marginally more while being significantly less well-rounded than the other, with the former having potential desire/work ethic issues while the latter is a team leader whose energy and enthusiasm has never been in question. I don't know how this trade would effect Montreal but it definitely makes the Stars a worse team.

Then keep Ott . We dont need him in Montreal . You guys got a top 6 winger ? And the trade makes no sense because there is no one who can replace him on the role he was filling in Montreal .
