Alex Kovalev (OTT) (13G, 13A, 26PTS)
Jason Arnott (NJD) (13G,11A, 24PTS)
Ales Hemsky (EDM) (10G, 25A, 35PTS)
Dustin Penner (EDM) (20G, 16A, 36PTS)
James Neal (DAL) (20G, 17A, 37 PTS)
Jamie Benn (DAL) (13G, 20A, 33PTS)
Jakub Voracek(CBJ) (10G, 26A, 36)
Milan Hejduk (COL) (17G, 28A, 45PTS)
Ville Leino (PHI) (13G, 26A, 39PTS)
Radim Vrabata (PHX) (15G, 18A, 33PTS)
Curtis Glencross (CGY) (19G, 11A, 30PTS)
Kovalev- Realistic would be cheap to acquire in terms of assets but he takes up a lot of cap room and isn't a long term solution. 3rd + long shot prospect

Arnott - Relatively cheap to acquire but doesn't help us past this year.2nd or 3rd + prospect

Hemsky and Penner - We probably have the assets to get one of them but Shero's relatively conservative and I could easily see us getting outbid. 1st + Despres as a starting point for Hemsky maybe slightly less for Penner

Neal and Benn - Highly unlikely, If they re-sign Richards then they might consider shopping Neal or Benn (probably Neal) for a dman but I'd imagine they'd shop Riberio first and explore Free Agency before resorting to that. Neal for Tangradi + Gogo?

Voracek - Something round Voracek for Goligoski makes sense but I'm not sure they're ready to move. Voracek wont be moved for futures.

Hedjuk - He's an Av for life.

Leino - Expected to be re-signed by the Flyers but if he does make it to FA then he could be a realistic option. at least 3million

Radim Vrbata - Wont be moved as long as they're in the playoff hunt. Could make it to FA but he's only really worked out in Phoenix at least 3 million

Curtis Glencross - Wont be moved as long as they're in the playoff hunt. Streaky guy and somewhat injury prone but fits the Pens system. at least 2 million

If the Pens barely make the playoffs, is that still considered a tank?

Yeah, Pens have enough to land Hemsky. Just a matter of whether Shero will part with that much or not.

I would prefer hemsky. Crosby has shown he is slowly turning into high end goal scorer and finisher and hemsky is a play-maker. Have kunitz as the guy battling and crosby and hemsky setting each other up. Line would be gold.

Maybe I am just not as high as some on Despres, but I would turn down a Hemsky for Despres + a 1st deal if I were GM of the Oilers

That and hemsky has a nice shot from the left circles for the pp which we lack.

I prefer Hemsky, but I'd ask about both. Which one I pursue would depend on the asking price. Hemsky may cost more than the Pens want to give. Penner may cost slightly less and that could make him more affordable from an asset standpoint.

Not sure the Oilers will get much more than that package. Hemsky's probably worth a 1st and top prospect. Despres is a top prospect. He's not elite, but I don't think you'll get a 1st and an elite prospect for Hemsky.

I don't think they could unless they moved Staal in the deal. They just wouldn't have enough cap room next season for both Hemsky and Penner otherwise.

He might well get a better offer but out of Pens top 3 prospects Despres fits the Oilers needs best IMO (and he's probably the most valuable).

Few things wrong here, one you gave dupuis a pay cut which isnt going to happen. Second you didnt give kennedy a raise which you know he will be asking for. And you have tangradi making the team over Jeffrey.

That's nowhere near enough value for Voracek and Umberger.

Voracek=Goligoski
Umberger >>>> Talbot + 1st

That's a lot for the Pens to give up, but I think most would do it.

You're not going to get much better than that, I don't think.

He's worth a lot to Columbus because he's a leader in the room plus he's very versatile and they're not rebuilding so they wont deal him for futures.

If we can't get better than that, then we keep Hemsky. He is pretty popular in this town and we aren't exactly itching to move him. We only would if the return was worth it.

I agree that is likely your best offer, which is why I don't see us as great trading partners. Or at least not for Hemsky or Penner
