Grabo is a backchecking fiend. You'll notice he's one of the few plus players on our team.. a team that is pretty bad offensively and terrible defensively.
his +/- is helped by the fact that his line is the most productive of the Leafs. He works hard which is half the battle when it comes to being good defensively. He's not going to be winning the Selke anytime soon but he's solid in his own end.

1st Round pick 2011.

Capitals need to go all in if they want to make a cup run this season.

Leafs will rebuild with a solid core of players plus another first round pick.

Discuss.
If we're rebuilding, why wouldn't we just keep the best player in the deal?

Grabo-to-Washington doesn't make a ton of sense for a few reasons...

1. Washington needs a more experienced centre and a guy who is more of a natural 2-way talent. Grabo backchecks hard, but he's not overly effective in doing so.

2. Washington doesn't have the asset(s) that Toronto would need in order to justify trading him. Simply put, the only way Toronto can afford to do so is if they get a bonafide #1 centre in return. The only other player that could make Toronto consider it is a guy like Carlson, which I doubt the Caps are going to part with.

Leafs fans are delusional. That is arguably a better package than what Illya Kovalchuk garnered. If Washington was really going to go all out and put together a package like that, it's not going to be for Mikhail freakin' Grabovski.

You are delusional - it wasn't a Leaf fan that posted it.

Never did I say that the OP was a Leafs fan, but more than one person who I assume to be a Leafs fan has said that the packages is insufficient to land Grabovski. That is delusional.

Havent watched grabo play this defensive game mentioned above but I still think he will be a good player. The most I would give up for him is Perrault and a first or a prospect and a first. Even then I dont know. Were trading youth for youth. Whose to say on a decent team, not a great team but a decent team grabo cant crack the 2nd line or produce like he is. Its easy to play well when you have no pressure of any kind on you because the leafs were eliminated at the start of the season. Who knows though?
1) thats some optimistic thinking there

2) but leafs lead the league in points to start the season

Watch leaf games before you post.

So Grabovski goes for more than any player in the last 5-10 years?

GMGM doesn't trade 2 of these assets for him let alone 4.

How many of those players will help the Leafs today? 2 are NHL'ers and marginal at that.

You are missing the point. It doesn't help the Leafs right now trading their top center and arguably their MVP this season.

Sure value wise its a lot but not one of those players is as good as Grabovski.

You don't always get better trading your best player.

You just looked at his stats Im assuming? Grabo plays balls to the wall every shift in every zone.

Value is great, but it would be a bad move for the leafs. Grabo should be in the leafs long term plans.

How on earth is Fehr a marginal NHLer?

Was not aware Grabo was Brad Richards in disguise

Perrault and a 1st or Perreault and Fehr is a fair trade you get C/1st or C/RW for a C

That is WAY TOO BIG a package for a 2nd line center
