Would any playoff bound teams want Craig Andrson as a potential high reward backup?

Leafs might, Burke said he's looking for a goalie.

With his amazing season last year and solid playoff vs SJ, id imagine some teams would be interested as a backup with the potential to take over if the starter faltered.

With his recent play, id imagine his trade value wouldnt be more than a mid pick or mid-level prospect, since something is better than nothing they'd receive after he is not resigned.
Forget backup the Leafs can use him for their starter.

If hypothetically we did get him, he would probably split games 50/50 with Reimer.

Well that would still make him a starter. I think the Leafs should go after him especially if it only cost a middle rd draft pick

A late 2nd or 3rd round pick would be nice. We traded our 2011 3rd at the draft last year.

The market hasn't been set for backup goalies like it was when Mike Fisher was traded. I think all GMs are afraid to make a move for one for fear of giving up too much.

The Flyers 3rd rd pick, maybe. I don't see Burke spending too high on a goalie unless we are close to locking a playoff spot. Otherwise we get a rent a goalie like Mason or something.

I think Anderson is worth a shot, would be an excellent backup and could make a difference if he has to play

I doubt Burke picks up a goalie unless its for futures/off waivers. The goalie market is saturated right now, but I believe any goalie Burke would acquire would be simply marlies depth or a backup to Reimer.

I could see him cutting a deal with Tampa to take Mike smith off their hands for the rest of the season. The guy is making 2 million in the minors.

Say

To Toronto:
Mike Smith
4th round draft pick

To Tampa:
7th round draft pick

That would be the most I'd see Toronto doing.

I think Anaheim is a good trading partner for Colorado.
With Hiller out, Anaheim needs a goalie that can win games for them in order to get them into the playoffs and it doesn't seem like Curtis McElhinney can be that guy.
Anderson can be that starting goaltender, and when Hiller comes back, Anderson will be a solid backup.

So, how about
Craig Anderson for Mark Mitera + 3rd round pick?

Mark Mitera is a left handed shot, is 6'3, and a defensive dmen.
He was a former 1st round pick (19th overall) in 2006.
This is the kind of prospect that could help the Avs in their rebuild.

But since I've never actually seen Mitera play,
can someone give me an insight as to how this player is progressing?

What's McIlhinney's contract look like?

Maybe you could throw him in there, too, so Colorado doesn't have to go with Budaj/Grahame...

Opps didn't see this.

That wouldn't be too bad, I'd probably do that if Hiller is out for a while.

I'd probably take Mitera over McElhinney. Taking McElhinney was just to clear a roster spot for you guys.

3rd + Mitera would do it for me.

Anderson would be a great back up in my mind. Great last season , not so much this but he is worth a look for sure.

I imagine Colorodo will get into the Vokun, Bryzgalov sweepstakes next yr

The way you wrote that conveys the impression that you actually think you're in a position of authority or decision-making. Can't you banter with people and have fun with it? Get the stick out of your ass, internet dweeb.
