That would imply playing him.
good point, i guess he wasn't garnering much attention from other teams.

I have a feeling Neil is going to be dealt as well, this firesale is serious business. Its a shame too, one of my favourite Sens of all time.

Wow, expected more than that but I guess that is what the market will bear. Oh well, he had a good run here and was worth every penny preceeding this year.

Don't see a huge difference there. He's assigned to work for senators games, and yes he might have more credibility than someone else at sporstnet, but he certainly represents sportsnet (hence the reason it is currently the only sports web page to post the supposed trade). Thus I again say I will wait until TSN confirms it.

I was expecting about a 5th but oh well, 6th isn't all that much different. Better to just get it done, one less thing for Murray to worry about and he can concentrate on moving some other pieces.

Another draft pick during a rebuild for a 4th line plug who takes dumb penalties.

LOL... if Murray could have gotten a 4th, a 5th or anything else, I'm sure he would have. It's not like people didn't know Ruutu was available. I doubt Anaheim called and said "a 6th for Ruutu" and Murray said "DEAL" without having any idea of Ruutu's market value.

Yeah seems like a little, but really, not a catastrophe.

Mara = Garbage
Rutuu = Garbagier

Some of you people are so critical it really is kind of sad. Be happy Murray got anything for him.

it's Phoenix's pick, and they're currently ahead of Anaheim in the standings.

Murray better hope there's a Mark Stone there.

If Ruutu actually plays like Ruutu (aka not like this season) the Ducks are gonna be a pain in the ass to play against, heres hoping they matchup with Detroit.

he's the sens beat writer. He's the reporter closest to the team.

Sometimes you have to look beyond networks and at the people. Sportsnet isnt less credible because of the snet name, their less credible because the guys that usually break stuff are kypreos and millard. TSN isnt credible because they are tsn, but rather because the guys breaking news are McKenzie, Dreger, and McGuire.

Really should get some young players to fill the voids left behind. Bingo is hurting because of these trades.

I hope Anaheim trolls the Nucks hard. That would be hilarious.

His value this season has been reduced to so little, it's pretty remarkable. This time last season his value was maybe a 3rd? He's a better player than 6th round value (assuming he hasn't declined this rapidly due to age), but for what he's been recently, we couldn't expect much more. Good pick up for Anaheim.

I agree that they need some bodies either in Ottawa or Bingo. They can't leave their farm team high and dry for too much longer.

On the other hand, we might be able to convince some college FAs to sign here in a month or so since we can give them games right away with all these spots that are up for grabs. Too bad DaCosta is hurt.. .

The Sens were also a playoff team.
