This is a great move for the Ducks IMO, Ruutu is one of the grittiest players in the league but at the same time I guarantee that he will pull some skills out of his rump every once in a while that looks like something that belongs on the top 6.
Just because I've seen some people who don't know who this guy is, i give you guys the thumbs up on the addition.
I really hope you are right.

PS when he`ll be available? That USA-Canadian team trade thing again. :/

And one of the "non-dirty" plays:

This kind of play will become handy especially in the play-offs.

Ruutu is a very nice addition. The playoff race is already so insane right now. We needed some one to get the Sedins, Jumbo, Brichards, etc off their game. Lapierre isnt as good at it.

When you can add a playoff warrior who hits hard on the cheap, you gotta jump on it. Good job GMBM. To the guys who dont like it cause he gonna put our PIMs up and hes dirty, well were out to make some playoff noise. Some off you need to man up and get your balls out of your ladys purses. We arent gonna go out there and win games on skill alone. If you beat us, well then you earned it.This is Ducks Hockey and were a pain in the ******* *** to play against. love it.

No I think he is staying. One more playoff run and he retires this summer.

No doubt, good adition.
Spot on, this is an underrated value in the playoffs. Look at any recent winner and you'll see these types of players. We should know, look what we had in our cup run, not just the 3rd line but also May and Thornton.

Any chance of getting Filppula, we might as well have at least 5 Finns.

All the Finns are coming to testdrive Teemu's cars.

Ruutu - Koivu - Selšnne
X - Lydman

We need another Finnish dman.

My hopeful lineup for the playoffs (if we get in):

Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry
Blake-Koivu-Selanne
Mac-X-Sexton/Belesekey
Ruutu-Lappy-Chipchura/Marchant
Parros

one of Lappy, Chip, or Marchant would have to go.
Seems like Wheeler is on the trading block, would he work?

Crap... Wheeler was just traded for Peverley. Both guys would've been nice to have on the Ducks.

I guess either Peverly or Kelly were better than Wheeler? Or was Wheeler not a natural center?

Ruutu has been a solid gritty defensive forward more than an agitator for a couple of years now. He gets a few unnescessary penalties mostly due to his reputation, but he is pretty skilled player for his role and in my opinion this is a very good addition to Ducks. Ducks will be the most favorite team for many Finnish NHL fans now

I just realized I kept confusing him in my head with Tuomo Ruutu (who railroaded McDonald and then turtled against Kunitz). Then I realized they're both dirty pieces of ****.

Tuomo aint dirty player? Hes the skilled one of these brothers.. hes style is like ovechkin thought, he hits everything that moves but he still is top 6 player on hes teams.. he likes to score AND hit. But hes not dirty not even close.

Jarkko might be a bit dirty...
