Didn't we just read yesterday that the Flyers wanted to keep him as depth insurance? Weird.

Zherdev seems like a very anti-Lou type player. I'd be very surprised if they put in a claim, especially with the team on a roll.

Allegedly the Flyers offered a better return for Jamie Langenbrunner but either Lou didn't want to deal him within the division and/or Langenbrunner wouldn't waive his NTC for Philly. If Dallas continues their slide, I wonder if they could trade him again and get a pick upgrade for their troubles. Although not sure where the Flyers sit capwise after getting Versteeg/dropping Zherdev.

I'd be all over Zherdev, lazy or not. The guy can score and a lot of the snipers from Russia are lazy. Put him on a line with 2 guys to cover his ass and let him score. He needs the minutes. If ya know what your going to get up front with him there should be no dog house for him. Kopi Williams would be good, they both work there ***** of down low.

I'm with Lebrun... the only way Schenn is in play for Richards is if it's a sign and trade deal. Otherwise, there's no way Schenn is part of a trade equation for Richards, and he certainly isn't a part of a trade equation for any other "known" deadline possibility.

Honestly, I would rather have Schenn as our second line center on an entry-level deal, and then his next level deal, and then his next level deal (maybe nine years worth of him?) than Richards at $8 mil over that span.

Obviously there's that risk that Schenn doesn't pan out, but still, I think you have to consider that all the money we'd be giving Richards would be going towards Doughty, Simmonds, etc.

I still see the Kings and Florida making a minor deal. I think getting a couple of guys from the Panthers would be Lombardi's plan. Reasoner is the first, he's a great vet and can play the 4th line center role perfectly in the playoffs. Another guy to keep an eye on is Steve Bernier.

F Bernier, he is on his 4th team in 5 seasons for a reason

I think it has more to do with his inconsistent play than anything else. He's still only 25.

There are some rumored attitude issues and he supposedly doesn't train in the offseason either.

I thought Lombardi was taking a nap when Neal was traded?

That's a great point... the Kings would get into hot water cap-wise if Schenn wasn't part of the equation. If the Kings get Richards, it'd have to be as a rental then I would think.

He'd fit perfectly with Doughnuts and Simmonds then.

100% agree. Trading Schenn for a concussed, soon to be UFA would be a devastating blow to the Kings organization.

I'd rather have Statsny than anyone mentioned. That would be a very good, very young center combo.

Funny, and some said it wouldn't take Johnson to get Neal.

Thanks for the good read. When it comes to insiders, LeBrun & McKenzie are the two that know their ****, so you can believe whatever they say.

I really hope Schenn doesn't get traded. I can't wait to see what he can do in the NHL.

Say bye to Stastny in Colorado. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/stor...avs-trade.html

Once a father gets involved, it's never a good thing, especially someone like Peter Stastny.

His teammates aren't the ones that will trade him.
