Pros: Wheels, physicality, wrist shot accuracy and power, defensive ability, leadership, versatility as W or C.
Cons: Not many I can see
How is his playmaking, I think thiis question is obvious for a guy like a leaf fan
From what I've read, I love it but I can't make any judgement so I am learning as much as I can from those who are informed. So I greatly appreciate any information about him.
Only 5 points in 8 games now...take out the hat trick game and it's an ugly stat line. One of the rare 2013 1st round candidates off to a slow offensive start.
The Oil Kings next game is on Sporsnet 1 (Friday night), I'll be paying close attention to him.
Yeah he's been quiet for sure. Hopefully he picks it up here. Teams are paying extra close attention to him now, not an excuse, just a fact. Before the season started I was hoping this would be the guy the Oilers pick come 2013 draft. I still think he'd be the perfect #2 centre.

2 games I've been to at Rexall I've barely noticed him, the first one I actually thought he was injured or scratched before I noticed him in the last minute of the first period.
Gtfo of here with the Fisher and Stoll comparisons.

The thing that would probably hold Lazar back from becoming an elite player at the NHL level is his passing skills. They are just alright.
Yea, he's top ten in his age group, but most 5-10 picks don't go on to be elite. Lots of Brules, Torres, Hartnell's etc in that area. Lots of good players but not guarenteed stars by any means.

Maybe something like Adam Deadmarsh? Minus concussions, of course.

Not as physical as that. That's why I like the Doan comparison best. He's physical and can kill a guy if he needs to, but it's not necessarily one of his main attributes on a regular basis.

He is a much better skater than Doan.
Probably has a better shot too.
I would say Jake Virtanen is a better comparable for Doan.
Nice release on the goal. It was almost like he got tired of holding position in front of the net so he decided to take control and create instead of screen the goalie.
