Where would you guys take him for a fantasy keeper league?

I love the guy and I would love to have him, but I don't want to take him too early. Any idea?

In all honesty he seems to be a 50+ point guy(60 in a good year) not sure that is fantasy draft worthy unless you in a league with alot of players.

Personally If I was in a fantasy league I probably would pick boom or bust type players like Petan or Mantha over Lazar

I would rank him around 15th overall for a fantasy league. With that being said, I'm not one of the people who knocks his offensive game. I'm a big fan.

I have him 12-15 OV. I don't want the Oilers to take him at 7. Too early. He is going to be a good player.

I'm not trying to pick on you by any means but my pet peeve is the number of posters on HFBOARDS that predict that so and so will be a 50 Point player. There are fewer than a 100 players in the NHL that score at that pace. If you figure that on average, those players span the last 12 draft years, then that means that there are only about 8 players drafted in each year (sometimes more - sometimes less, depending on the quality of the draft) that reach this very impressive level in the NHL. Its really pretty daunting when you think about it. I know nothing about Lazar other than that he is very well regarded by most and maybe this is truly an exceptional draft year but the 50 point marker gets thrown around a lot around here and it doesn't add up.

good player, glad he is getting a lot of recognition. Him and Shinkaruk are two of my favorite offensive players for this draft..

The year before was Gally going to the habs, and this year it was Lazar to the sens. It hurts however I can't help but wish all the best to this kid. Love him and wanted him BADLY.

Senators added a great piece to an already deep prospect cupboard.

Really though, he's really taken on a leadership role with the Oil Kings this year. He was kinda buried behind players like St Croix and Ewanyk last year. Overall, he's playing a lot better than I thought. I had reservations about his offensive ability but he's making a believer out of me.

I don't know, I think he's a bust, NHL 14 only has him at a 3 and a half yellow star potential

As a Sens's fan I am jealous of Rielly. I had to tell some of my Leaf fans at the draft they the Leafs got the best d-man in the draft by far. He's looked solid so far.

He was never buried behind Ewanyk. It would be the other way around. He played second line minutes last year and scored almost forty goals. He was good then, but most faux scouts around here who never/rarely watch the games formed opinions based on second hand info or nothing at all.

He is one of the very best forwards in the WHL this year. He will be a very good pro. Ottawa is a good drafting team, and them taking Lazar when they did only solidifies that further.

Sens fans are very lucky.

Not to get kiss-a55y with a rival, but I've always loved the moves Brian Murray does. He's one of the best GMs in the league, especially at the draft. Very intelligent.

The only time Burke is any good at the draft is in the top 10, it seems. He's had very little success outside of it. His dictation of big Americans for our scouting has cost us. I'm glad he's gone and will reserve judgment on Nonis.

I was a huge fan of Lazar and had my hopes really high that he was the one that fell to us. But I'm happy with Gauthier. Good luck with him 76 games a year, in the future.

Not too many people wondering about his NHL scoring potential now is there? Saw him in RD on Friday and he dominated on his way to 4 points. Good person too, always smiling.
