Right now, I'd say this deal looks for for both teams. Colorado will win it in the long run though, if EJ reaches his full potential.
I'm sure he will get there but let's be honest the Blues got 2 very solid hockey players. We will see about EJ development and also how bad the Blues finish and how high the Avs draft with that Blues pick

Right now I favor it to St.Louis, gonna see how EJ turns out

some posters were like "you guys are crazy why would they EVER part ways with stewart?!?"

McClement is better than Pyatt, Johnson is better than Subban and STL 1st is better than our 1st.

of course we would do it.

It's hardly debatable. Johnson missed a year due to injury, but I find it hard to say 100% sure Subban is better. It's a wash, and taking away the homerness effect, I'd say EJ is slightly better. In any case, I would've LOVED to have the following next year:

Johnson-Markov
Gorges-Subban
Weber-Spacek

It can obviously be better, but an elite d-man as your #1 and another 2 potential studs as 2 and 3? unreal.

I can see EJ having higher value around the league right now.

This is the kind of deal I would like to see the Habs make. I'm not saying they have the assets to pull off these kinds of names in a trade, but deal for players that can help now and be a part of the core heading into the future. I'm not interested in wasting assets on rentals.

Trade worked out great for Philly, atleast Recchi was a pretty good player for us. He was my favourite player at the time, just because he was a little guy that could and he had that awesome iron-man streak going.

Well Stewart with 2 goals tonight and a nice +2. Shattenkirk with an assist too. Seems like that trade is starting off real good for the Blues.

Means nothing really, freshly traded players always play good.

Yea, I know. I'm not leading to any conclusions. Just mentionning for those following the trade that it's off to a good start.

Stewart is the type of player the Habs badly need...

St-Louis has now Stewart and Backes as their two top power forwards. Wow !
