It would not surprise me if the leafs pick him up for PP minutes, worthwhile risk tbh at this point. While also having the possibility of softening EDM for a better deal on valuable assets

Edmonton should have just put him on re-entry in October and saved 2M in real money.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Avs pick him up, would at least help us with flexibility during the deadline (we are basically barely above the cap floor right now).

The Canucks could do with another defenceman on IR. Maybe even LTIR if he plays his cards right.

How would Souray's $2.7m cap hit next year effect Ehrhoff's re-signing?

I tend to agree. I wonder if Edmonton would consider some type of Souray-Komisarek swap?

I wouldn't think it would be a problem if he really LTIRs it up.

Seriously, though, if he doesn't seem to be worth it he can just get re-waived at the start of next season. Aquaman isn't exactly afraid of spending (assuming nobody picks him up)

Unless there is a bigger deal in the works, this is a very poor GMing decision by Tambo IMO. There was absolutely no need to rush the Souray situation, in fact I was totally fine with having him play in the minors all season and then see what could be done in the off season. If nothing could be done in then, then waive him and place him on re-entry waivers next year and be done with it.

it really doesnt matter at this point. to think you were getting anything from him as his value and age diminishes is a joke in itself. more than likely Tambellini has something in the works or he wouldnt just randomly pull him up in some "hope" that something happpens.

either way, the dudes value is garbage now or in the summer.

I disagree, with the mad scramble for D, this is best chance to move him. If nobody wants him now at half price, nobody wants him....ever

Colorado should claim him.

We are already right up against the cap floor.

He is an upgrade over hunwick.

Allows the avs to move Liles if need be and not worry about not meeting the cap floor requirements.

An EJ-Souray PP is just what the avs need.
