good job Bob...

now about the fact that Subban (or pleks, gio, cammy...) doesn't have any tough players backing him up, dya think maybe you should be advising your pal Pierre to put an end to your mistake?

Has PG had any interviews in the press since his mid-season update...the ghost nickname suits him fine.

Bob was always good for things like this, and he's on the money....

You think TSN or CBC will have any of this though? Doubt it.

I liked that he said that Subban doesn't have somebody to protect him. Hopefully management sees it as an important issue and deals with it instead of asking to stop playing with an edge to piss people off.

Wait, Gainey finally gets it... why doesn't his replacement?

I love Bob Gainey's comment, but I'm afraid the people who already seem to dislike PK will simply take these comments and say something along the lines of: "Maybe PK should stop yapping so much when he plays..."

That's true, how dare a young black man come into a white man's league and speak to them like they are equals. The nerve of that guy!

This is as disrespectful as Subban. Gainey. Gotta learn the respects of NHL veterans before you talk.

The NHL is going to have to learn that it's 2011 now. Like Jackie Robinson, Montreal is again a revolutionary Isle. & I'm White.

I believe in people.

Atta boy Gainey. It's nice to hear from him and I love that he didn't hold back anything.

I wonder what some people will say now, about the comment that P.K. doesn't have anybody to protect him and that he protects himself. Because we all know, he hides from fights and is scared, right?

There is all sorts of players in the league that yap on the ice and often don't fight.. Yet they are seldom if not, never, called out in public the way that PK has been?

Something smells fishy in this league.

I was in attendance for this, and waiting for alumni game to finish to work on it, and I was just in awe of not just what he said about Subban, but the other issues as well.

As soon as he told Dave Stubbs, that he had no immediate decision or influence making, it opened up the PK question.

Stubbs also said that Gainey was good for an outburst like that once a season, and he is right.

This is the kind of stuff that made us all love Gainey so much. A big strong respected voice. His words have weight.

Now, please everyone, do not post this on the main board - it would just end in a PK bash session.

Thanks for your comment

I guess if you've worked with Gainey enough, as a reporter you know when he is ready to open up like this. When he does, he is brilliant.

His words carry a lot of weight behind them, unlike a blow hard like Brian Burke.

This.

Another PK bashing thread would be bad.
