Ward has to get consideration for #1 Canadian goalie he plays behind a non-existent defense sometimes and when you consider age and playoff performances i would take him way before Luongo.

Price and Luongo have 5 dmen out each. Not a very good arguement right now.

A three-horse race, really, with Lou, Carey and Ward a head or two over the rest.

If they were picking an Olympic team for right now, it would be Luongo, Ward and Price, in that order.

Right now, Ward has had any competent D-men for years i could see an argument for Price but Luongo was playing behind a stacked D until they got injured lets see how well he can do in the playoffs.

IMO in 2014 i see Luongo the starting goalie for the Olympics and Ward taking over ala Brodeur 2010.

At this very second?

Luongo
Fleury
Ward
Price

I put Fleury and Ward over Price simply and clearly because of their cups. Ward and Price are incredibly similar goalies though. They play similar, and can get scorching hot, and can have some real stinkers slip through as well.

Man these lists are weak when compared to most other points in hockey history. What happened to Canada's goaltender production?

Canadians are nice people, we love to at least let the other countries think they can compete with us.

Most past lists always had mid 30 years old goalies. This list is fairly young and wont look "weak" at all, give it a few years.

Do you remember in 2002 when we had to decide between Brodeur, Joseph, Roy and Belfour?

Good times.

Brodeur is the best of all times, but he no longer belongs on this list. Despite the lack of Stanley Cup, I have to give the edge to Luongo. Cam Ward is currently better than Price, but I have no doubts that Price can and will catchup.

MAF for 4th. I may be biased because MAF, just like Thomas, is simply unable to perform against my Habs. MAF was a bigger factor than Halak in last years series...

So Luongo, Ward, Price, MAF...Mason next?

Huh? Look, I love Price, but Fleury was really solid in that cup run. They would not have won without him pulling out some solid wins.

Potentially, yes Price has the ability to be better than Fleury, but MAF is a damn good goalie, you really shouldn't deny that - and I doubt many levelheaded hockey fan would.

He was great in the cup run (mostly against Detroit); however, he looks a notch below that this year and looked worse last year. He relies too much on his agility/reflexes, doesn't have much technique (and he ain't no Hasek).

IMO Ward and Fleury are both ahead of Price because of their cups.

Luongo is #1 because of his overall dominance in the past decade.

Brodeur 5th... by default because of his poor season.

But it's close, very close.
