Based on the games I've seen and various fan reactions. Atlanta fans seem to want to get rid of Oduya for whatever, but Florida fans don't seem to complain about Wideman much. He's also got 9 goals and a RH shot, and right-handed scoring from the blueline is something we've needed for a long time. I don't understand why you created a confrontation over a pretty simple situation.
Wideman kinda sucks defensively, but so does Liles and everyone has a hardon for him. He makes less, is younger, probably cheaper to acquire, is right-handed, has a better point shot.....
So when you are pace for 40 points and you're still -26, that's just "kinda sucks defensively"? I would put that closer to "totally sucks defensively."
i have a funny feeling that we are going to pick up a jurcina and chimera type for depth and we are going to move a few prospects for those types and we'll see how far the jackets go into the playoffs
At work, so TV isn't going to do it--found it anyhow.
As for Wideman...I'm sure he'll solve the Caps defensive zone problems. Watching McPhee is almost as funny as watching Bobby Clarke used to be. He still doesn't seem to get that the Caps problems can be distilled into defense and goaltending. He can get as many offensive talents as he wants, it won't solve those problems.

If Green is out longer than expected, I understand the move from a short-term sense.

Oh yes, I forgot about the +/- stat
He plays (played, now) on a pretty crappy team, and Bryan Allen is a pylon. Not good D partners.
He still has put up 9 goals, do we not need scoring from the blueline? That's the whole ****ing point, but everyone has to be snarky. He's a guy we could have used, and it turns into a semantics debate because people love arguing over the internet, and all HF is is one big ****ing semantics argument.
It doesn't matter now, but I just don't understand why all this crap comes up. He's a guy we could have used, is he not? That's the only reason I brought him up.
