Like hell, you do! How many times in the past week have you said that Howson should have addressed the problems last off-season? That horse is dead, the necropsy completed, and the resulting bottle of glue emptied and tossed away!

So, you're saying Howson doing nothing last off-season was a good idea or just that you don't like me reminding you of how bad of an idea it was?

Interesting comment by Puck Daddy in his chat:

Wyshynski: Wideman trade tells you (a) they're worried about Green and (b) I betcha Alzner's in play now or in the summer.

I can't imagine that Alzner's in play, but if he is Howson should be on that like white on rice.

And not making THAT move has to be one of the dumbest non-moves of the year given where prices have gone since then.
Oh, I don't disagree. But this was even LESS than what Wiz got, which is what really chaps my ass.

I'm disputing the statement I quoted - you do, in fact, love to beat dead horses.

I agree with you that moves should have been made; but yes, I am tired of being reminded.

Well, the fact that Garon is now in play suggests that, at least, Howson is starting to get desperate to do something to get a d-man.

and please ............ no "well of course he is desperate, he should have made the moves last summer". We all are aware of that.

We won't be able to tell if he's desperate or not if he doesn't make a move to judge. TICK, TOCK, TICK, TOCK.....

Wow - just saw the Wideman deal. That return seems like something SH could have bettered easily, without making too big a ripple in the current mojo.

I assume Wideman is UFA after this season?

He's got another year @ $3.9 million IIRC.

Klesla to Phoenix for Sami Lepisto and Scottie Upshall!

Per Nick Kypreos SportsNet

Upshall is a great get. Umberger v 2.0!

Lepisto is a good puck mover

That's what I'm talking about, at least that's my opinion. Not bad IMO.

Great get!!

And for those of you with wives who play golf, Upshall's wife is a really good teaching pro! Guaranteed she'll be on staff somewhere

Upshall is a smaller faster version of Umberger. He'll be a fan favorite soon enough. Plus him and Calvert....boy thats gonna be a fast line.
