Ok, If you asked her and she said she meant Rusty, I accept that.

The comment in TFP concerning Voracek that the Jackets need a "big shake up" seems to have been based upon the situation a month ago. The team as it is playing now does not need a "big shake up". It needs to add a defenseman. I can't see how moving Voracek at this time and completing the destruction of a first line that was playing with excellent chemistry is going to be regarded as something that helps a playoff run.
Nash has been waiting for years for someone that knows how to get him the puck and to trade that person who is clicking as Nash's set up man does not seem to be a particularly smart move during a playoff run.

Not sure I would have wanted to trade the CBJ equivalent of Neal and Matty N. I imagine I'm in the minority. I know, give to get and all.

i think, if anything, this says two things: 1) we accept that we are not going to make the playoffs in the west the way we are playing and 2) we are willing to move anyone to set this team up for the future/new ownership

i think this move both makes richards' more available, but it also makes him a little more valuable.

Richards, according to the Dallas Morning News, is still suffering from concussion-like symptoms.

Likewise, Dallas got ripped off for Pittsburgh's 5th-best defenseman. I watched him play a few times this year, he's turnover-prone and doesn't operate the PP very efficiently imo.

Howson should have made a move for Wisniewski when the Isles were looking to move him. The prices are getting worse and worse the longer he sits on his hands.

Wonder what the price for Kuba is as he's allegedly being dangled.

What I think Howson should do.....

Look to trade Hejda and Klesla for an overpayment. Dont go out trying to buy because the market is obviously ridiculously over priced right now. Just let other GMs offer him deals...since thats what he's good at anyways.

Good deal for both teams. Fits needs for both. I am kind of shocked that it was just Goligoski going back to Dallas though, I would have figured Pittsburgh would throw in a prospect or pick at least.

So glad we didnt bother adding that dman during free agency, adding at the trade deadline is always a better idea! :sarcasm Well, I cant see any help for this team to close out the season at these costs. I cant think a broken Klesla or Hejda are going to bring back anything more then a 3rd rounder

And its not really so much of an overpayment if he fits a need for your team

No, that'd be the equivalent of Jake and Russell.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

so giving up something like voracek + clitsome/russell for goligoski isn't really overpayment because we need a PMD?

Funny, I didnt see Goligoski on our roster last I checked. It may not be an overpayment for Dallas if they feel they need that PMD more then Neil if they have the depth.
